Prior to writing together, Chelsea performed as a solo artist under the name "CHANO" and Brian pursued his career as a professional drummer and pianist. While attending the same college, they often walked past one another while going to and from class. Eventually, they began talking, and one conversation grew into an ongoing musical collaboration.
Brian and Chelsea began their musical pursuit from opposite ends. Brian's passion for musical precision and technicality contrasted Chelsea's desire for raw and expressive writing. Surprisingly enough, the product was a collective of strengths. Pulling from jazz, blues, and soul backgrounds while experimenting with folk and pop, the two developed their own musical recipe.
During the writing process, Brian and Chelsea work from the silence up. Each instrument is intentionally placed to build a wholesome sound. The two have adopted the belief that silence in a song is as important as the notes themselves.
Above all, Brian and Chelsea are firm believers in fun. During performances, it's not unusual to watch the duo invent songs on the spot or pull audience members on stage. Currently, they are performing and promoting their latest single, "Home Sweet Home" (released in November 2013).

Feels like we gonna apart
Feels like we gonna apart
Damn this long distance
But we still love with purple hearts yeah
Love me like a right yeah
I will be your way with bombs away
From the other side of the island
l won't sleep alone
Cause you and l were under the same sky
Running out of words to say how much I need you
Running out of words to show you that I care
So just hold on trying find you ways to tell you but you know
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
I've seen it catch you down
Time and time again yeah
I've seen it burning down
But I know we are not like them
Love me like a right yeah
I will be your way with bombs away
Bombs away tonight
From the other side of the island
l won't sleep alone
Cause you and l were under the same sky
Running out of words to say how much I need you
Running out of words to show you that I care
So just hold on trying find you ways to tell you but you know
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
Just come home
Won't you come won't you come won't you come home
Yeah just come home
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
Running out of words to say how much I need you
Running out of words to show you that I care
So just hold on trying find you ways to tell you but you know
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
Just come home
Just come home
Won't you come won't you come won't you come home
Just come home
Just come home (Yeah just come home)
Yeah you know I miss you just come home
The lyrics of Brian and Chelsea's song, "Home Sweet Home", tell a story about a person who finds their identity and the struggle they face in making their family accept them for who they are. The first few lines of the song show how the person tries to express their feelings to their mom about their sexuality, but their mom refuses to believe it. Upstairs, their dad whispers into the mother's ear that their child becomes gay day by day, implying that their sexuality is a choice that they are making consciously. However, the child's sexuality is an inherent aspect of their being, and not something that they can change.
The second part of the song talks about the singer's best friend who they want to date. This person seems to interfere with their relationship with their family, and as a result, the family does not approve of this friend. The lyrics suggest that the family thinks that this friend is the reason behind their child's decision to come out as gay.
Finally, the singer decides to leave home, feeling that nobody can stop them. The chorus of the song questions how a family can be so heartless, clueless, and viewless towards their own child's identity. The lyrics of the song showcase the battle that many LGBTQ+ youth face when they come out to their families, and the struggle for acceptance and understanding in a society that often shuns those who are different.
