YES!!!! It took a while but we FINALLY got to see the Genesis of the Cybermen. I knew as soon as I saw it, that THAT was The Master. They did an EXCELLENT job on making the disguise reminiscent of his old ones (particularly Time Flight and Castrovalva) and yet new enough that you couldn't possibly be sure right up until he walked into the room with Missy. This series is AWESOME, a fitting send off for a Doctor of Peter's Calibre. Now let's just hope the new Doctor will be able to live up to it. Guess we'll see come Christmas.

I'm not ashamed to say I had no idea that was the Master until he started talking to Missy. A great 'reveal'.But what an enormous shame we all knew the Cybermen were back. A slow realisation would have been fantastic.Also the Cyberman being Bill seemed inevitable.The pre-credits is looking more and more like a prequel to Tenth Planet.

What I love about this episode is the amount of call back to previous episodes from the master to the mondasian Cybermen but one of my favourite and this is because I love classic who is where the master says "specifically the genesis of the Cybermen" which is a call back to a Tom Baker (4th doctor) episode "Genesis of the Daleks"

Loved the horror elements in this episode, first episode that sent shivers down my spine, glad I didn't watch the teaser for this episode as it made the reveals in this all the better. Great episode and I just loved how they had the cybermen origin handled.

My favourite episode of the series so far. A little shaky for me at the beginning but after Bill gets shot the entire episode started hitting the right notes for me, a very well realised idea and concept. I think it was foolish to reveal early the return of Simm and the Cybermen (although I know comitted fans would already know) but I think if that had been hidden the reveal would have been amazing.

Loved the realization of the time dilation theory. Shocked and saddened at Bill's apparent fate. As with most people I worked out John Simm was Mr Razor within a couple of minutes - though that takes nothing away from his great performance; the key thing for me was trying but admittedly failing to work out precisely his relationship with the hospital. A good penultimate episode.

Wow, that was John Simm playing that caretaker character that whole time, even though I eventually realised he was the Master the whole time?! Man, the prosthetics were SO well done, I never even recognised him at first, never mind the voice he out on before he revealed himself as the Master (which I know was obvious at first, but still, I'd assumed that was a different actor at first). O_O Man, Kudos to the make-up department in that one, well done! 😃
Also, I really enjoyed this episode! As well as the return of the Master himself John Simm, but this was a perfect buildup to the origin of the Cybermen, which I love the modernised designs of SO much by the way! 😁 Frankly, I'm really impatient for the next Episode, because I'm really curious what role the rest of the modern Cybermen play in all this. ☺ Plus, I really pray for poor Bill, and hope she'll be alright. 😢

(Oh, and also, loving the new pen feature in the Sonic Screwdriver. 😸 X3)

I loved the recent reveal of both Simm and the Mondas Cybermen (despite the stupid choice for the stompy feet sfx) Simm was almost like Ainley pulling off that disguise, I got vibes of episodes like "Castrovalva", "Time Flight" or "The Kings Demons" with it (I could almost hear Ainley cackling and saying that famous line from the latter episode... "Oh my dear Doctor you have been Naive"). I thought that Nick Briggs made the best of his opportunity to mimic what the late great Roy Skelton had done for "The Tenth Planet" and got to use the voice outside the Big Finish audios...

Saw the episode live, and the Facebook live feed, had to process it until now. What. A. Ride!

I fully expect the Doctor to begin his regeneration in the Xmas ep and complete it in beginning of series 11, which apparently airs late 2018. That's the main reason we caught a glimpse of the other end of the event, it will take that long..

Also, what if the reason Missy doesn't remember being on Mondas is because Simm's Master is her future and not the other way around.

I thought this episode rescued the cybermen. They'd started to lose any connection to the really creepy body horror they're founded upon and this episode put the human story back at the heart of the cybermen.

When I was getting into the classic series I thought that the Doctor lost one of his companions to cyber conversion. I think that an article was talking about Adric but had pictures of Tomb of the Cybermen. When I I found out it hadn't happened I really want to see a companion leave the show like that...but not Bill.

Doctor Who has been more misses than hits in the past couple of years for me. This is in fact the only after show episode I've watched (is that the girl from the time warp?) But anyway, I haven't really enjoyed an episode since The Girl Who Waited back in 2011, until tonight. I've been fond of Bill this season but I've only just realised how much I actually liked her until I saw her being turned into a cyberman against her will. I never liked Clara and didn't care when she died and felt cheated when she didn't. This was actually pretty emotional (and I have a heart of stone). I absolutely adored John Simm, he was the highlight for me along with the sheer creepiness of the hospital. For me after first watch the episode is 10/10. Though I'm still on the fence for the finale since I've hated the last four. Hopefully these seven days go quick...

Why reveal John Simms return in the trailers. I was obvious he was the caretaker due to the prosthetics. It would have been much more impactful if we hadn't know he was returning.
Also the reveal at the end that it was Modsian cybermen was also not impactful as we have been told about them all season.

I slowly started to realize that "hey, something about that face is familiar"
And at some point, I starred realizing how crazy that man was.
And then, at some point, I believe two minutes before the mask reveal, I put the teo together and:
It had to be the master. But I thought the different looks were due to time dilation; that it was his real face and he just had been there for hundreds of years.

So yeah, I saw the reveal coming, but was still very surprised when the reveal came.

do u guys think it could be possible to have a season where the doctor regenerates into simms the master face and have the master regenerate into one of the doctors old regenerations??? my vote would be for having david tenant be the master as i know he has said he would love to ome back to the doctor in some way and has in the 50th anniversary episode, and on another note he did an exelent job as the villain in netflixs jessica jones series and would be briliant as the master

i dont know why i thought there were more, i guess after watching through the whole 9 seasons on netfixs a second time with my dad over a period of weeks must of made me think otherwise, i would like to see more episodes per season though 20 just seems like a good fit for a season of a show ( i guess ive watched too much power rangers and supernatural and their usual 20 episode long seasons kind of blened in with the doctor for some reason in my mind) (i should also point out i have only seen the newer episodes from when christopher eccleston became the doctor so i must of just beeen confusing it with other series as mentioned))

What made them so creepy/scary for me was there closeness to a human being than more modern Cybermen, which I think on totally faceless Cybermen is particularly scary. It is this idea of mixing the humans with an unidentifiable/uniformness/facelessness that is scarier the close the "people" are to humans but still totally unidentifiable. Case in point would be the Gas Mask people of series 1 for a similar reason.
And frankly the biggest reason of all is the AMAZING work of Murray Gold that adds unnoticed to the feeling you get in each scene.

Arctic It's the Christmas special. They may Sneed it to shock people and incentives them to watch next week in hopes of seeing the regeneration, and then they'll let you know you were duped and you have to tune into the Christmas Special.

He's the 13th regeneration but the 12th Doctor. It was a huge part of the War Doctor's story that he didn't do what he did "in the name of the Doctor"

Disguises are back they Said. I think in that Regeneration scene it's Missy in disguise. Simm asked her, of she still loves disguises. So she playes again the Doctor, maybe to Save him and regenerates into a completely New Master. Of which Simm is afraid (I'm very worried about my Future ). Gomez leaves the Show, so it's possible.
