All the pain was so great
but I sought the Lord and He heard me
and brought me out of my terrible pit
You too can call on Him, he knows your name... He knows your name
Just reach out to Him
doesn't matter where you've been
He's still there for you
Standing there in the midst of my accusers
I felt the stares, I heard them whisper, why is she here?
See, they knew just how much I had failed him (I had failed him)
I crucified him over and over and over again
But then He called out my name and my burden was lifted
He called out my name and removed all guilt and shame
The silence filled the room as I stepped out my tomb
Jesus called out my name and today I'm not the same
You have strayed from the pathway of heaven
and you can't find your way back to the fold
My friends the Saviour is here to receive you
He called your name and take you back in his arms again
Just as He called out my name and my burden was lifted
He called out my name and removed all guilt and shame
The silence filled the room as I stepped out my tomb
Jesus called out my name and today I'm not the same
He called out my name and my burden was lifted
He called out my name and removed all guilt and shame
The silence filled the room as I stepped out my tomb
Jesus called out my room and today I'm not the same
The lyrics of Bridget Blucher’s song “He Knows My Name” speaks of redemption, hope, and the power of faith in God. The song starts with the singer confessing her state of feeling lost and overwhelmed with pain. However, she turns to God and He hears her cry for help and delivers her from the pit of despair she found herself in. The singer then encourages listeners to seek God and trust in His mercy, for He knows their name, no matter what they may have been through.
The second verse shows a more direct reference to the Bible, where the singer finds herself standing in the midst of her accusers, being judged for her sins. However, instead of judgment, she experiences a powerful moment of grace when Jesus calls out her name, freeing her from guilt and shame. The lyrics describe this moment as a personal resurrection, where the singer steps out of her tomb and is transformed by the power of God.
Overall, the song is an invitation for listeners to also seek God and experience the transformation that comes with faith in Him. Whether they feel lost, judged, or burdened by guilt, the song reminds them that Jesus knows their name and is there to help them emerge from their own personal tomb.
