What you say
Baby iโ€™m okay
Iโ€™m in the studio making hits now what you say?
All theses play
All here to display
Everyone so fake
They could sell their mom away
What you say
Baby iโ€™m okay
Iโ€™m in the studio making hits now what you say?
All theses play
All here to display
Everyone so fake
They could sell their mom away
Man watch you overdose
That shit you taking had a dozen of thoses
So why you froze?
Uh?
When we showed who owns the show
Wow
Wow
Make it pause
All I hear is some applause
For that stupid ass shit you say when you're on drugs
Slap that shit hard they all just frauds
Man
Why you chose
To live this Life like an outcast dose?
Man rise
Hit pedal and hit wow
What you say?
Letโ€™s go out and make our way
Hit pedal and hit wow
What you say?
Eh
(Cโ€™est enuiyant!)
What you say
Baby iโ€™m okay
Iโ€™m in the studio making hits now what you say?
All theses play
All here to display
Everyone so fake
They could sell their mom away
What you say
Baby iโ€™m okay
Iโ€™m in the studio making hits now what you say?
All theses play
All here to display
Everyone so fake
They could sell their mom away
What you say what you say
I'll did already
Teaching another lesson you can call me the professor
Really not worried
Got my cheddar
Never been better
You cannot tame me
I be complaining
Calling me names
Giving me fame
This is not a game we remain at the top
Gotta switch the flow when i get to the drop
Yelling fee fi foe fum bring the house down
Look at me rap now
Bet the real ones know since 2016
With a voice memo
I cannot settle
Moi jโ€™suis un hรฉro
Toi tโ€™es un zรฉro
Add and subtract my shit
Iโ€™m on my overseas
Hop on the track right quick
32 No 16
To switch my tempo
Flex for no reason
Yeah the grass is greener on the other side
Took a lot to see it but weโ€™ll be alright
Weโ€™ll be alright
What you say
Baby iโ€™m okay
Iโ€™m in the studio making hits now what you say?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Bridget Jones' Diary Vol.2's "Say What You Want" speak to the idea of not caring what others think and focusing on one's own journey. The song opens with the phrase "what you say" repeated as the rapper asserts that they are okay and making hits in the studio, despite the fake people around them. The lyrics then shift to criticism of those who use drugs and fake applause to perpetuate their status. The artist encourages listeners to rise and hit the pedal, making their way on their own terms. The French verse speaks to overcoming obstacles and dismisses those who were once supportive but have since become detractors.

Bridget has to be the most relatable character ever created, especially for women.

@val-schaeffer1117

and for men

@laminage

I know right. I wonder what Celine Dion thought of this scene as well as Eric Carmen who wrote the Song. Also another person who was good at imitating Celine Dion was UK Soap Actress Emma Atkins who sang like Celine. She has a terrific sense of Humour when she bought the lady who "imitated" her on Saturday Night Life to one of her shows.

@roberthartley6629

@@laminage Or Jamie O'Neil who is singing here. :-)

I remember watching this as a kid thinking this wasn't possible..like it had to get better, now the only unrealistic part of this movie is Bridget being able to afford her flat in Central London on a secretary's wage ๐Ÿคฃ

@jessicabhatnagar9405

She wasnโ€™t a secretary though? She was working in publishing but could be well paid as itโ€™s London and she has a university degree.

@itsmagdalenaaa

This was 2001, mind you. Even things were more affordable for the average person back then. Plus she was working in publishing

@tariqlear5172

It would have to be very well paid!@@jessicabhatnagar9405
