But he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl
(Man's world)
You see, man made the cars to take us over the road
Man made the trains to carry the heavy loads
Man made electric light to take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water, like Noah made the Ark
This is a man's world (Man's world)
But he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl
You see, man thinks about a little baby girls and a baby boys
Man makes then happy 'cause man makes them toys
And after man makes everything he can
You know that man makes money to buy from other man
This is a man's world (Man's world)
But he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl
This is a man's world (Man's world)
But he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl
This is a man's world (Man's world)
But he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl
This is a man's world (Man's world)
But he'd be nothing
The lyrics of James Brown's classic song "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" is a contemplation on the role of men and women in the world. The song opens with the declaration that it is a man's world, which is quickly followed by the acknowledgement that a man would be nothing without a woman or a girl. The lyrics then go on to list the many inventions and creations that men have made, from cars to trains to electric lights. These are all things that have improved our lives and made them easier, but they were all made by men.
The song then goes into how man thinks about little baby girls and boys and makes them happy with toys. Despite all of the great things that men have made, the point of the song seems to be that even with all of their accomplishments, they would be incomplete without the presence of women. This sentiment is echoed in the repeated line "This is a man's world, but he'd be nothing without a woman or a girl."
The song has been interpreted in a number of different ways over the years, but it is generally seen as a tribute to women and an acknowledgment of their importance in the world. It can also be seen as a reflection of the way that women have historically been seen as secondary to men, despite the many contributions they have made to society.
