According to one of the band members, one day Lise arrived and asked to join the then instrumental band. At first they were very unsure, but it soon turned out that her vocals matched their sound perfectly.
The band's name is derived from the neighborhood where their rehearsal room was located.
They released their debut album Jeans for Onassis i 2000 containing the big hit "Propaganda", and received international attention after they toured as supporting act for A-ha in 2000. They have won a number of Norwegian awards with their music.
In 2003 the band released their second album Tonight, Captain?, which saw declining sales and no big hit singles to match the success of their debut. The third album Jumping on Cars was released in 2005, featuring the hit "Miss You Like A Crazy".
In 2015 the band made a comeback with the single Rookie Mistakes and a number of live shows across Norway.

Briskeby's "Electro Boy" is a dance-pop song that speaks of the need for expression and joy in life. The first verse highlights the importance of a good beat, and how it can make one feel the groove of the day. The need to socialize and let loose is also evident as they express the desire to go out and scream and shout. The bridge is about the power of human connection, and how a stranger can embrace and show tenderness towards us. This connection can bring us hope and memories to cherish. The chorus is upbeat and catchy, a perfect representation of the joy and rhythm that the "Electro Boy" brings. It talks about how he has the rhythm and they have the joy, encouraging everyone to feel the beat and let it move them. The term "Electro Boy" may refer to a person with a magnetic personality, someone who brings life and excitement to any situation.
The second verse talks about how the beat is just as good at night, and how they stay up late because this is more than just a date. This could imply that the connection with the "Electro Boy" is more than just a romantic or sexual one, but rather one that brings a sense of belonging and happiness. The song ends with another verse 1 repeat, and then a final repeat of verse 2, culminating in a fade-out.
