Adam Roths powerful vocals are backed by a live cello (Alex Ashton), keyboard (David Christensen), guitar (Danny Cocke) bass (Steve Avery) and drums (Chris Brawley), blending together to create a sound that is both dark in tone, yet lyrically powerful.
Their debut CD "The Eyes of Tomorrow," (based on a story written by former guitarist Tony Verdi) was released in September 2007, and guides listeners through a painful story of love and loss. Broken Iris has been gaining momentum and building a faithful following at their live shows, proving that their musical talents are not limited to the recording studio. Broken Iris is currently planning their 2008 tour. .... Synthesis Magazine said, "After winning a highly publicized contest on KWOD 106.5, a local band called "Broken Iris" was the opener of the day for Dave Mathews Band. The Sacramento-based band played an all-too-short set, including the song that won the vote, Beautiful Girl, on the side stage to a large, enthusiastic crowd. In addition to the bass, piano, and guitar, they have a strong drummer, a cellist and an awesome lead vocals. Their lyrics are deep, they harmonize astonishingly well and their style is likely to fall under something like soft, emotional rock. Whatever it is, it works, and they are definitely a band to watch."

"Is this right?" Because deep down inside there's something that's left
To discover
Is your grand design hand woven nor divine?
As right as the rain smells when it hits the ground
As safe as an infant feels in its mother's arms
Sleeping peacefully sound
We're not alone softly she whispers
As out of control as this world seems to be
We're not alone
When day turns to dusk
And you close your eyes and finally realize as you ponder
A battling storm in the sky
Is your grand design hand woven nor divine?
As right as the rain smells when it hits the ground
As safe as an infant feels in its mother's arms
Sleeping peacefully sound
We're not alone softly she whispers
As out of control as this world seems to be
We're not alone
It's impossible to blink away
From this astonishing absolute beauty
And I smile just as you say
Set all your fears aside
Reveal what has grown through time
The Overcast falls behind
Then you'll find
We're not alone softly she whispers
As out of control as this world seems to be
We're not alone
The lyrics of "We're Not Alone" by Broken Iris are evocative and deeply introspective, grappling with questions of existence, destiny and purpose. The song is a contemplation on the nature of life, and the persistent feeling of isolation that often accompanies it. The opening lines encourage the listener to look outside and question the order of the world, hinting at an innate sense of unease that belies our everyday routine. The lines "Is your grand design hand woven nor divine? / As right as the rain smells when it hits the ground" evoke a sense of uncertainty around the nature of fate and the belief in a higher power.
The refrain of the song offers a measure of solace and hope. The phrase "We're not alone" is repeated throughout the song, whispered softly by an empathetic voice. It acknowledges the tumultuous nature of life and the sense of despair that often accompanies it, yet offers the reassurance that we are not alone in our struggles. The imagery of a "battling storm in the sky" is perhaps a metaphor for the chaotic nature of existence, yet even amidst such tempestuousness, there is a sense of interconnectedness and empathy that binds us all.
The concluding lines of the song encourage the listener to overcome their fears and embrace the beauty of life. The phrase "Set all your fears aside / Reveal what has grown through time / The Overcast falls behind / Then you'll find" suggests that by overcoming our fears and embracing life, we can find a deeper sense of meaning and connection.
