Throughout the entire story of DSMP, Dream had always been in control of a situation. He always had power. He never had to face his consequences. He, in any situation was victorious. Even when he was put under arrest and imprisoned, he still won. He won because he lived. Even behind bars, he pulled strings. He killed Tommy and made him beat Jesus's respawn time. And as Tommy left, nobody looked at him the same. And did Dream suffer consequences? No. Still in prison, but what's a prison without repercussions? Just a mandatory home.
Quackity has done something that nobody has done to Dream: he made him afraid. He delivered the consequences. He took away Dream's control.
I applaud Quackity. When Tommy hit the floor, I wondered: Has anyone thought of torturing Dream? Why on Earth does he get to murder a child and get to just laugh it off? Where is the consequence for that action? Why does he still get to pull the strings, even behind walls?
To extract the revival book means to eliminate Dream and for his sins to catch up with him. And instead of twiddling his thumbs, making an elaborate plan that Dream will just plan around, or doing a scouting mission, Quackity did what nobody else does 95% of the time: HE TOOK ACTION.
Evil or not, Quackity did the most logical thing in this scenario. It's time to strike the devil back. :)

To be clear everyone- Dream isn't dead. Quackity is torturing Dream in prison- with the blessing of Sam- until Dream writes down what was in the revive book for him. We know this based off of the calendar at the end of the stream, in which quackity crosses out 'Visit Dream in Prison' on the sixteenth, and the rest of the days in the calendar say the same thing.

@Boyan _Gaming I'm pretty sure that you can't revive your self when your in this "void of the dead" place... you can only revive someone in it when you or someone else with the knowledge to bring you back from the outside.
