King of Kings
Brooke Ligertwood Lyrics

Without hope, without light
'Til from Heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
And the morning that You rose
All of Heaven held its breath
'Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who'd come
To the Father are restored
And the church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me, ohh
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
Praise forever to the King of Kings
The song "King of Kings" by Brooke Ligertwood is a beautiful ode to Jesus, the King of Kings. The song starts by describing the darkness and hopelessness that existed in the world before Jesus came. However, when Jesus came, He brought with Him mercy, light, and hope. The song describes how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies made in ancient scriptures and was born to a virgin, coming from a throne of glory to be born in a cradle of dirt.
The chorus of the song is a beautiful reminder to praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three in one. The song speaks about how Jesus came to reconcile the lost and redeem the whole creation, not despising the cross, and even though He suffered, He saw salvation on the other side. The song exalts Jesus as the King of Kings who conquered death and rose from the dead. When Jesus rose from the dead, it was a stunning moment that even heaven held its breath. The song ends with the church of Christ being born, and the Spirit lighting the flame. The gospel truth will forever stand, and through Jesus' blood, we are free.
The song is a beautiful reminder of the love, mercy, and grace that Jesus embodies. It speaks of how Jesus came to save the lost, to bring hope and light to a dark world, and how He conquered death and rose again, restoring all who come to the Father.

In the darkness, we were waiting
We were living in a world of darkness and despair,
Without hope, without light
Without any hope, without any guidance or direction,
'Til from Heaven You came running
Until You came to us from Heaven in a hurry,
There was mercy in Your eyes
Your compassionate eyes were full of mercy,
To fulfill the law and prophets
You came to fulfill the promises of the Scriptures,
To a virgin came the Word
The promise of the Word became flesh in the form of a child born to a virgin,
From a throne of endless glory
You left Your glorious throne in Heaven,
To a cradle in the dirt
To be born in a humble manger,
Praise the Father, praise the Son
We offer our worship and adoration to the Father and the Son,
Praise the Spirit, three in one
And to the Holy Spirit, who is one with the Father and the Son,
God of glory, Majesty
You are the God of all glory and majesty,
Praise forever to the King of Kings
We will praise You forever, our King of Kings,
To reveal the kingdom coming
You came to reveal the kingdom of God that is coming,
And to reconcile the lost
And to reconcile those who were lost and separated from God,
To redeem the whole creation
And to redeem the whole creation that was marred by sin and death,
You did not despise the cross
You willingly endured the cross and its shame,
For even in Your suffering
Even in Your suffering and pain,
You saw to the other side
You saw beyond the cross to the victory that awaited You,
Knowing this was our salvation
Knowing that this was the only way to bring about our salvation,
Jesus for our sake You died
You, Jesus, died for our sake,
And the morning that You rose
And on the morning that You rose from the dead,
All of Heaven held its breath
The entire heavenly host held its breath in anticipation,
'Til that stone was moved for good
Until the stone was rolled away from the tomb for good,
For the Lamb had conquered death
Because the Lamb of God had conquered death,
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the dead rose from their tombs in a great resurrection,
And the angels stood in awe
The angels stood in amazement at the power and glory of it all,
For the souls of all who'd come
For the souls of all who had come to believe in You,
To the Father are restored
Were restored to the Father, reconciled and made whole again,
And the church of Christ was born
And the church of Christ was born on this foundation of resurrection and redemption,
Then the Spirit lit the flame
And the Holy Spirit ignited the flame of faith and love in the hearts of believers,
Now this gospel truth of old
And now this ancient truth of the gospel,
Shall not kneel, shall not faint
Will never be silenced or weakened,
By His blood and in His name
Because of the shedding of His blood and in the power of His name,
In His freedom I am free
We are set free and liberated by the freedom that Christ offers us,
For the love of Jesus Christ
And all of this is because of the tremendous love of Jesus Christ,
Who has resurrected me, ohh
Who has brought us to new life by His resurrection, ohh,
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Once more we offer our worship and adoration to the Father and the Son,
Praise the Spirit, three in one
And to the Holy Spirit, who is one with the Father and the Son,
God of glory, Majesty
You are the God of all glory and majesty,
Praise forever to the King of Kings
We will praise You forever, our King of Kings,
