Browns began writing new material and performing live with the addition of Austin Davila and Pete Langway. In the summer of 2008, this line up recorded a 6 song EP with Kevin McMahon at Marcata in New Paltz, released on 1928 Recordings that fall. October 2008 saw the addition of Santos Montano (Old Man Gloom, Zozobra) on drums as well as support for the Soft Pack on their east coast dates and the Obits "I Blame You" record release show.
Browns played their last show July 18th, 2009 at Southpaw.

Just a bit of trivia, the Browns sister Norma sings on his track as well. Maxine who was pregnant at the time couldn't reach the high notes, so Norma stepped in to do those parts for her. Other songs she sings with the trio are, 'True love Goes Far Beyond', and 'Man In The Moon'.
