THANK YOU RUSS!!! Forty plus years ago I spent a lot of time hanging out with a custom luthier. At the time I was also into leatherworking. When I told my friend John Wynn about my idea of carving leather patterns onto musical instruments he began to experiment with it, and made several models with this type of decoration.
I guess what I am trying to say is; this video takes me back... Like your Dad, I too am camera shy, so I REALLY appreciate him taking the time. As I said before, I think on Facebook, his work REALLY belongs in the Smithsonian. He is BRILLIANT!

Russ, I'm new to the world of banjos. But, having great fun catching up. What comes through in this video is the relationship you have with your Dad. What a treasure! And now, I must go watch the "Old Home Place" video once again.

Russ, I really enjoyed watching the video and getting to learn more about your father. He certainly is a fine craftsman. The outtakes or bloopers at the end were good too.
