A quick poem I wrote to this song.
Winter wolf,
her coat ragged as her midnight wrath
the thorns of fate, a twisted laugh,
heroes that once roamed the mountains high,
now buried under the gray skies,
Winter wolf,
under your rule,
forces and armies
are simple tools,
winter wolf,
allies are nay,
heart of stone.
Winter wolf, your power reigns
tears are shed, the innocent slain
Winter wolf, her eyes as black as night
they watch, and take out every light
a silent sleep, never to wake.

When winter comes for war,
You shall hear no Lions roar.
When winter forces you to yield,
No Stags shall graze upon the field.
When winter creeps upon you from the shadows,
No Roses shall bloom from the meadows.
When winter wreaks havoc on the land,
You can bet there'll be no Snakes in the sand.
When winter brings to life all it finds grim,
The Krakens will freeze where they swim.
When winter sets and the land begins to shiver,
The Flayed Man will start to rot and wither.
When winter fights to the last sliver,
No more Trouts shall swim in the river.
When winter ravages and all despair,
No Falcons shall fly high in the air.
When winter shows you what happens when snow falls,
Not even Dragons Breath shall warm you in your halls.
When winter comes with all it's might,
Only the Wolves shall howl in the night!

You'll hear no lions roar...
No stags grazing the fields...
No roses growing in the meadows...
No snakes in the sand...
The krakens will freeze where they swim...
The flayed men will rot and wither...
No trouts swimming in the river and no falcons flying in the air...
Not even the dragons breath will warm you in your halls.
Only the wolfs howl in the night... Winter is coming.

Winter Wolf is lithe and steady
Winter Wolf won't cry
Winter Wolf is unyielding
Winter Wolf will die
The villagers want it killed
They must break all that is graceful
And anything that counters their power
Is considered replaceable
Winter Wolf is languid
She won't be easily caught
Winter Wolf is wise
Her survival isn't for naught
But the wolf is alone
And outnumbered on her part
How could a being so ethereal
Be struck down by a single dart?
So now the villagers have it
Her form lay lifeless and cold
Her pelt traded for metal
Winter Wolf was gone for gold
Her howl still lingers here
Drifting in frozen air
What the villagers do not know
Is that nature is a wolf's lair.

Who killed his lover
In all of her grace
Who spilled her blood upon the land
Who have brought their people disgrace
May they be cursed
May they lose their souls
May their riches be taken
As was his queen
May they be lost
And never again seen
May the Winter Queen's death be avenged
May her song carry on
With winter's unforgiving winds...
