Lola
Buckingham Nicks Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lola my love
Sure knows how to treat her man
Lola my love
She does everything a woman can
When I come home one thing on my mind
She knows just what I'm lookin' for
And in the morning after
I say
Lola you sure can love
Lola-Lola
Lola-Lola

Races are run

Some people win
Some people always have to lose

The sound that became the iconic Fleetwood Mac sound was really the Buckingham/Nicks sound.

@cherwhit

Absolutely!

@neorich59

Agreed and Lindsey's production skills.
They used some particular chord progressions over and over and Christine McVie also bought into that and added to the skill set! 😉

@MrsAnaya-fy7ex

Agree, 100%

@Gina Hornberger Get off your revisionist history high horse. The sum of what a band creates is almost always more than what lesser versions of a full band can. Buckingham is a great musician but being in the BIG MAC required him to tone down some of his control issue tendencies. Fleetwood and Christine M would simply not allow control excesses. Sure, there were ridiculous instances and run-ins, that's what happens when you have strong egos. S & L did not do all the writing, they did not have the stellar rhythm section of the MAC, etc. And next time, write a little more coherently, sheesh.....

@jimrauh3584

@Gina Hornberger Geez; most of what I stated was fact; chk some of your BIG MAC history. And "opinions vary" is not even a statement!! To state what you did about Fleetwood is based on what, exactly? And if you knew your Mac history, you should have acknowledged that Mac had a revolving door of characters. Fleetwood was looking for someone to keep their constantly in flux group alive. No one had any idea the Buckingham/Nicks duo would turn Mac into the popular musical beast they became. People could hope but no one knew. And their duet disc ONLY hints at what great songwriters they would become. There's a couple of stellar tracks but they were still in their formative stages.
