Keep Each Other Warm
Bucks Fizz Lyrics

If you're looking for the dream you dream of
Open your eyes
If you're looking for a one and only in your life oh
If you're looking for a friend to turn to
Someone to care
When all the world is out to hurt you
I'll be there oh darling

Reach out your hand
Reach out for me
I'll understand and I will be
Waiting to catch you when you fall
And we'll stand tall when we are

Blown by the wind
And torn by the storm
We'll always find the love we need
To keep each other keep each other warm

When you talk about toleration
I know the score
If you ever want liberation
There's the door oh but darling

Living in love is bitter sweet
You've got to have faith on a lonely street
I'll be walking beside you through it all
And we'll stand tall when we are

Blown by the wind
And torn by the storm
We'll always have the love we need
To keep each other warm

Come sail into my arms
The harbor of my heart
And trust that love is all we need
To keep each other keep each other warm

This is the song that introduced me to this massively underrated group, as a sidebar to Barry Manilow's 1989 cover, and it started a friendship that's crossed the Atlantic. Another pretty good UK group that didn't get a chance over here. Manilow did cover this Andy Hill/Pete Sinfield gem and had a good-sized hit with it in '89, but there's nothing wrong with this, except it was never released in the US (the US Polydor LP released, titled "New Beginning" after the first single, had it, "Love the One You're With" and eight old RCA songs). Cheryl and Shelley are both lovely and the harmonies are great. I'll give Shelley Preston a break; she was put in a bad spot replacing Jay Aston, and frankly neither RCA nor Polydor did them any favors over here.

Great song. Thanks for uploading. I added it to my favourites!

I've always felt that this is when the cracks within the group were really beginning to show. In 1985, when Jay left, they were able to cover it up with "new girl" Shelley, but here, in this 1986 performance, the three original members all look tired and fed up. Mike not yet recovered from the coach crash, Cheryl not as sparkly as she used to be and Bobby just looks bored. Beautiful song, bland performance.

I think they were and are still brilliant! Shelley had big boots to fill when Jay left. I don't think it is ever the same when one member leaves or is replaced.
