Save The Day
Budapest Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They say, it's the only way, but they, they only want it when it's there
So here I come to save the day, the future's here and the past is yesterday
They say, it's the only way, they say, they only want it when it's there
We're not going on a holiday, we do a lot of work and we don't get paid
Stand up don't walk away, take your pride and swallow
Life's full of much unwanted waste, crime pays and the junkies walk away
But for husband and the good son, they speak ill at ease but they dare not run
The lyrics to the song Save The Day by Budapest speak to the idea of standing up for what is right, even if it is not the popular or easy thing to do. The lines "So here I come to save the day, a regular Joe now on parade" suggest that the singer is an ordinary person who is stepping up to make a difference. The line "the future's here and the past is yesterday" implies that there is a sense of urgency to act, in order to create a better future.
The song touches on the idea that people often only appreciate something when it is gone, as seen in the lines "they only want it when it's there". The chorus encourages listeners to stand up and fight for what they believe in, even in the face of adversity. Lines like "take your pride and swallow" and "they speak ill at ease but they dare not run" further emphasize the importance of standing up for oneself and one's beliefs.
Overall, Save The Day is a song that encourages listeners to take action and make a positive change in the world. It advocates for standing up for what is right, even if it is difficult or unpopular.
