Soft Place In My Heart
Buddy Holly Lyrics

I've got a soft place in my heart for you
And the dreams it's caused no one will ever know
I guess you know dear - my love has always been true
Now there's nothing left to say or do but go
These bitter tears I've shed for you - are all in vain
But if you decide you want me back again
Just come back dear and I'll no longer be so blue
I've got a soft place in my heart, my darling for you

It has a really nice country sound to it. A side of Buddy's music that I've never heard before. I like it.

The little guitar pieces at 0:04 and 1:16 are so beautiful.

This is Buddy Holly and Bob Montgomery.

Fine, almost uncannily fine, obscure Buddy Holly song.
Country, not rock and roll. His marvelous talent on full display.

Bucciarati's Left Shoulder Zipper

Is he overdubbing himself in this one, or is this with Bob Montgomery? Either way, this is a beautiful song. Viva Buddy Holly! :D

thanks so much for posting the great buddy holly, these rare songs are so great to hear

Nina Garcia

My favorite Buddy Holly song.

Wally Colegrove

This is an overdubbed demo from Buddy's pre-Decca/Brunswick days. Holly was all rock 'n' roll by the time he signed with Decca.

He is inimitable without a doubt. Must say this sounds a lot like Louvin Brothers and that is meant has the highest compliment to both Buddy and the Louvins !

Tyler Eugene

As far as pure talent and passion for the music is concerned, Buddy was the true King Of Rock N' Roll.
