True Love Ways
Buddy Holly Lyrics

Just you know why
Why you and I
Will bye and bye
Know true love ways

Sometimes we'll sigh
Sometimes we'll cry
And we'll know why
Just you and I
Know true love ways

Throughout the days
Our true love ways
Will bring us joys to share
With those who really care

Sometimes we'll sigh
Sometimes we'll cry
And we'll know why
Just you and I
Know true love ways

Throughout the days
Our true love ways
Will bring us joys to share
With those who really care

Sometimes we'll sigh
Sometimes we'll cry
And we'll know why
Just you and I
Know true love ways

This was my surprise song to my beautiful wife Judy when we married August 1, 1981. It brought many tears to my eyes in the several years after she died unexpectedly in September 2005. Now it brings smiles and wonderful memories!!

That’s unbelievable that you got married on August 1, 1981……That’s the same day I went with my grandfather to put his 13 year old lab to sleep. I was only 10 years old on the verge of 11. He always remembered that date because when he signed the papers at the vet, the date was “eight-one-eight-one”…..So at the very moment we were crying with broken hearts, you were on cloud nine. Hard to believe it’s been 40 years now! I’m so sorry you lost your wife 💔

First time I've heard this version with the studio intro...If Buddy had lived he most certainly would've had a big influence on the music scene in the 1960/70's and recorded with the Beatles, and perhaps the Rolling Stones...? He was a leader,a pioneer of rock n' roll which would've transcended different trends in coming years, as his music legacy shows...I never knew Buddy but way back in '78 I said to my brother why don't we pay Buddys' parents a visit instead of forever praising his musical genius...How,he asked...we don't have any money to get there...Easy,I replied...I'll sell my car, which I did and we both went on a trip of a lifetime to Lubbock,Texas in which we met Buddy's brother and parents who were so glad to see us, and held his electric guitar and watch which he wore when he was sadly killed...Standing over his grave I guess was about as close as we would get in meeting our most favourite singer of all time...

He WAS in fact a huge influence on music of 70s , etc. He introduced violins and other orchestral instruments in to the genre. Huge impac

He did influence music that came later. The Beatles, The Stones later Linda Ronstant but so many in between. Just as he was influenced by Hank Williams as were many so were many influenced by Buddy. In fact if you take Oh Boy and slow it down... its a Hank Williams song. Influence!!!
