Bluebird
Buffalo Springfield Lyrics
Listen to my bluebird laugh
She can't tell you why
Deep within her heart, you see
She knows only crying
Just crying
There she sits, aloft at perch
Strangest color blue
Flying is forgotten now
Thinks only of you
Oh yeah
So, get all those blues
Must be a thousand hues
And be just differently used
You just know
You sit there mesmerized
By the depth of her eyes
That you can't categorize
She got soul
She got soul
She got soul
She got soul
Do you think she loves you
Do you think at all
Soon she's going to fly away
Sadness is her own
Give herself a bath of tears
And go home, and go home

"Bluebird" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Stephen Stills and recorded by American folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield in April 1967. A two-minute version was released as a follow-up to their hit "For What It's Worth", with a four and a half minute version included on the band's second album, "Buffalo Springfield Again". A musician from Stills' folk music days in New York City's Greenwich Village, Charlie Chin, performed the bluegrass-style banjo section of the song on the album version.

Listen to my Bluebird laugh
She can't tell you why
Deep within her heart, you see
She knows only cryin'
Just crying, yeah
There she sits, aloft a perch
Strangest color blue
Flying is forgotten now
Thinks only of you
Just you
Oh, yeah
So, get all those blues, must be a thousand hues
And each just differently used, you just know
You sit there mesmerized by the depth of her eyes
That you can't categorize
She got soul
She got soul
She got soul
She got soul
Do you think she loves you?
Do you think at all?

Listen to my bluebird laugh, she can't tell you why
Deep within her heart, you see, she knows only crying, just crying, yeah.
There she sits, a lofty perch, strangest colour blue
Flying is forgotten now, thinks only of truth, just truth, oh yeah.
So, get all those blues, must be a thousand hues
Be just differently used, you just know
You sit there mesmerized by the depth of those eyes
That you can't categorize, she’s got soul, she’s got soul, she’s got soul, she’s got soul.
Do you think she loves truth
Do you think at all?
Soon she will just fly away sad to see gone
Give herself a bath of of tears and go home, and go home.

28 and found this mentioned in a book on alternate guitar tunings. I'll happily carry the torch onto the next generation if I can, this is awesome! That solo gives me chills!
