Ojos Verdes
Buika Lyrics

Serrana, me das candela
Y yo le dije gaché
Ven, y toma de mis labios
Que yo fuego te daré.
Dejaste el caballo y lumbre te di
Y fueron tus ojos dos
Luceros verdes de Mayo pa mi

[Estribillo]

He vuelto a vivir

[Estribillo]

Lyrics:
resting  in the quisio (corner, a particular one) of the mansebia (brothel)
I  was watching the night of May turn on  (the poetic reference is to fire);
The men passed and I smiled Until at my door a horse stopped.
"Serrana, will you give me candle?"
And I told you "Gache” (roman for young men),
Come and take it from my lips That I will give you fire.”
You left the horse And I gave you fire,
And two green stars of May  were your  eyes for me (pa mi, instead of para mi it’s again roman)
Green eyes,
green like basil.
Greens like green wheat And green,
 like lemon green.
Green eyes, green with  a knife glow (we are talking about a big curved one for work),
That are clavaitos (nailed in the sense of a wound)in my heart.
For me there are no suns, no stars or moon,
There are only two eyes that have become my  life
Green eyes,
green like basil.
Greens like green wheat
And green, lemon green.
We watched from the room wake up the day And to sound (i believe it’s a reference to a morning call from the tower, but I am not from Spain) the dawn in the Tower of the Candle (in Spanish the same word is use for candle and a the sail of a boat).
You left my arms when it was daybreak
And in my mouth you left a taste of mint and cinnamon.
“Serrana (women from the mountain, “la sierra” it’s a region not the mountain per se)  f
or a dress I want to give you some money”
I told you:” it is done, You have to give me nothing more. "
You climbed your  horse You left me,
And never another May night as beautiful as this one I have I ever had.

Green eyes

Leaning in the doorway of the brothel,
I watched the May sunset burn.
Men were passing,
and I was smiling
when you stopped your horse in front of my door.
Serrana, give me a good time,
and I said to you, "Gache,
Come here,
take my lips
and I will give you fire."
You left your horse,
and I gave you fire,
and your eyes were two green stars of May
for me.

Green eyes,
green like
basil.
Green like green wheat
and the green, the green of lime.
Green eyes, green,
with the gleam of a knife,
that have stuck themselves in my heart.
For me, there are no suns,
nor stars, nor any moon,
There is nothing else besides those eyes
that are my whole life.
Green eyes, green like
basil.
Green like green wheat
and the green, the green of lime.

From the room, we watched the day awake
and the ringing of dawn in the watchtower.
You left my arms when morning came
and in my mouth the taste of mint and cinnamon.
Serrana, I want to give you
money for a dress.
I told you the night has been paid,
you don't need to give me a thing.
You got on your horse
and went away from me,
and never has there been another May night
as lovely as that one was for me.

Bendiciones Buika
