I've always love this song and while I was pregnant with my first born it has become my lullaby every night while singing along for the baby who was still in my tummy.. and so I end up naming my son Emmanuel.. Being pregnant while in the middle of pandemic was not easy but it gave us hope and it also reminded us that God is really with us.. Our Emmanuel was born last November 28, 2021 and now I sing this song to him as a lullaby.. 🥰

I love listening to this song so much, every time Advent is approaching. Very appropriate for the Advent Season, most especially on the second half of the season (Dec. 17-24) wherein the Aguinaldo Masses occur.
This popular Advent song was originally written in English by Charles Wong (Xavier School, High School Batch '70). It was later on expanded by George Gozum and Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ, wherein the counterpart of the song was added.
