DTD
BulletProof Messenger Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Verse 1)
An affirmation of the price that's on my head
I just can't get it enough
and I don't remember what you said

(Verse 2)
Another stupid lie that's placed above my bed
I think I've just had enough
Cause a voice is screaming in my head

(Prechorus)
Woah oh Woah oh
It's not the same for everyone
Woah oh Woah oh
Cause I'll make this last

(Chorus)
Tell me what it is that you truly love
Hold on tight and don't let go
Tell me what it is that you're thinking of
Your silence will take it from you

(Verse 3)
Why do I speak the truth I find it must be said
This time I've had it enough
But the voice keeps screaming in my head

(Pre Chorus)

(Bridge)
Cause you're right
And I'm wrong
Dreams are to blame
So you know, I'm here
And you're gone
An dreams aren't to blame

(Chorus)

Overall Meaning

The song "DTD" by BulletProof Messenger delves into the singer's struggle with the pressure and expectations placed on them by society. In the verse 1, the lyrics paint a picture of the singer being hunted or chased, with a price on their head. It is a metaphor for how the world tends to view us as individuals with a certain worth, and how it can be overwhelming to constantly feel like we have to prove our value to those around us. The singer is addicted to the feeling of being valued, despite not being able to remember what the people around them say.

In the following verses, the singer speaks about the various challenges they face, including being lied to and a voice inside their head that won't stop screaming. The pre-chorus talks about how everyone has their own individual struggles, and that the singer is determined to make it through despite the challenges.

The chorus is a plea for honesty and communication in relationships, urging the other person to express their true feelings and not hide behind silence. The bridge offers a shift in perspective, with the singer admitting that sometimes they are wrong and that their dreams may have placed unrealistic expectations on themselves and their relationships.

Overall, "DTD" by BulletProof Messenger is an introspective look at the pressure to be perfect and the importance of open communication and honesty in relationships.

i really like the intro from 0:00 to 0:10 i just wish it didn't switch to a continues blur of guitar distortion afterwards :( Just not my type of music that's all.
