The clock is ticking
Can you hear the countdown
With every hour
Give me the power
I need the strength to carry on
On and on
When I'm just born to die
We're all born to die
Born to die [x2]
Never before, never again
Behold this travesty
Never before, never again
Behold adversary [x2]
Befriend my enemies
My pulse is racing
I can hear my heart beat
Is this the last time
You get to be mine
I lack the will to carry on
On and on
No more I care to live
When I'm just born to die
We're all born to die
Born to die [x2]
Never before, never again
Behold this travesty
Never before, never again
Behold adversary [x2]
No more sorrows, no tomorrow's
I've never felt alive before
With every hour
Give me the power
I need the strength to carry on
On and on
No more I care to live
When I'm just born to die
We're all born to die
Born to die [x3]
No more I care to live
When I'm just born to die
Born to die
To die [x3]
The song "End Of Days" by Bullet for My Valentine reflects on the concept of mortality and how we all have limited time on this Earth. The lyrics suggest that time is running out and the clock is ticking, reminding us that life is short and we need to make the most of it. The repetition of "born to die" emphasizes the inevitability of death and the fact that it is something we all must face. The singer expresses their lack of will to carry on and their belief that life is not worth living if all we are meant to do is die. However, in the midst of this despair, there is also a sense of urgency and a plea for strength to carry on.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of reconciliation and forgiveness. The line "Befriend my enemies" suggests a desire to make peace with those who may have wronged us. The singer acknowledges that time is running out and that they may not have another chance to mend relationships. The line "Is this the last time / You get to be mine" adds an element of regret and a sense of wanting to make amends before it's too late.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of desperation and a need to make the most of our time on Earth before it runs out. It speaks to the fragility of life and the importance of making amends and living without regrets.
