This comment. This fucking comment right here. This is why I’m turning to Kratom. My body is in constant pain. I’m a husband and a father. I’m also a postal carrier and have been working forced overtime for the last 3 years. When the pain is so bad that you can’t sleep it means you can’t heal. Do that for a long enough time and you wind up making your wife a widow and your children resent you for leaving them.

I do what I do so I can provide. But providing isn’t enough if all my family gets from me when I’m home is anger, lethargy, depression, and a broken man.

Guys, look….most of us were taught to shut down emotionally or ignore pain or bury our feelings. That will literally turn us into the monsters we feared growing up. This isn’t about being weak. It’s about being strong enough to get help so you can be the dad your kids deserve. Be the husband your wife fell in love with. Be the friend that others looked up to when we were all young.

Bravery isn’t not being afraid. It’s moving forward even when you’re terrified. Strength isn’t ignoring your pain. It’s acknowledging it, accepting it for what it is, and moving to overcome it.

Guys, we got this. We really do. But only if we don’t try to lie to ourselves. That story always ends the same way and it’s an early grave.

As someone that used Kratom in an attempt to get past a severe opioid addiction (think $200 a day bad) , I first fell in love with Kratom.
It took my withdrawals away entirely.
In fact, it made me feel like I had just taken a couple oxy’s. (My addiction to pills was at a point where I hadn’t felt this way in a while)
However, over the next six months, my tolerance to the drug ramped up severely. Before I relapsed, I was taking 35 Kratom capsules at a time, two or three times in a day.
Needless to say, this was pretty expensive.
Also, I found the withdrawals from it to feel IDENTICAL to opiate withdrawal.

I know this won’t be the same for everyone. A big part of withdrawal is mental addiction. Still, to me it was as addictive as any opiate.

After another severe relapse I felt I had no choice but to get in suboxone and I have been “clean” ever since.
I don’t think I will ever kick the suboxone.

I am currently detoxing from alcoholism. I am very confident that I will be successful and for the first time in a long time I will feel good about myself.

Marisa Lobue me too!! I’m still on it and my pain is manageable, after getting off of over 600 mg’s of morphine and klonopin a day. I started taking Kratom as soon as I felt withdrawal symptoms and it wasn’t even half of half as bad as opiate withdrawals.

I use Kratom as a tool to focus when I'm trying to make music, or as a stimulant for when I'm going to a social gathering. I also sometimes have some in my protein shake after a workout when it's a nice day so when I'm walking home I can take in my surroundings better.
Like most people here are saying, it's really not as bad as Joe is making it out to be. I think it's largely misunderstood as just another drug to get you fucked up, but I see it as more of a natural medication for depression and addiction. It's a miracle plant and I love it ❤️

The effects vary wildly depending on the individual. For me it soothed the ever present nerve pain in my arms and legs. My arms and legs feel like they're on fire and for whatever reason Kratom helps. The burning sensation has been so pervasive that I've frozen my loved ones out of my house by running the A/C until ice cicles are hanging from the ceiling. I feel normal while being able to think clearly due to the dulling of chronic pain. For me there's no high rather I notice 20 minutes later I can think more clearly. I suggest you try it while at home to see how if at all it effects you. For me the white leaf works the best which goes against the descriptions. It works for some and not others. I suggest you buy a very small quantity to see if helps. 1 teaspoon mixed with 8 oz of water is what I take.

Kratom saved me from a life filled with depression and ptsd. At 23 years old, I watched my dad kill himself. The horror you go through when something like that happens is unimaginable. Before this happened, I didn't even believe in PTSD that's how stupid I was. This plant helps tremendously with that. I honestly don't know if I would even be here right now if it wasn't for kratom. Hell, it helped me break loose of a nasty speed addiction several years back. I was really bad off and didn't even realize it. Addicts don't typically comprehend exactly how bad they are into it until they're able to break free long enough to have the opportunity to look back and honestly reflect on their past self. I know I sure as hell wasn't able to. I had a former friend of mine suggest taking it to help soften the withdrawal symptoms. He used to go work out on the oil rigs, so when he was out for weeks on the rig, he wouldn't be able to take any crystal with him. Kratom would help him get through work until we had a couple weeks off, where he'd do nothing but party with a couple hookers he knew. But that's beside the point... Point is, is that when I decided I couldn't continue living that lifestyle, kratom was the tool I used to help break away for good. I still take small doses of Green Borneo in the morning, then Red Bali before bed to help with my early onset osteoarthritis. The stuff seriously helped me save my life. If it hadn't have been available to me as a medicinal tool, I'm quite sure I wouldn't be alive right now.

I’m 4 weeks off of Kratom, and can tell you that the withdrawals are absolutely nowhere near as bad as opiates. I weened myself off, but I would equate it more to a nicotine withdrawal than a oxy withdrawal. My worst symptom was getting the “jimmy legs” before I woke up in the morning. Plus, I sneezed a lot. But compared to suboxone, the withdrawal was nothing.

For me, Kratom used to remove all depression completely. I mean all of it. Made you super interested in activities, relaxed, joyful; energetic. No hangover and it’s easy to kick. It’s the perfect drug. It still gives me energy years later, but the calm euphoria is reduced due to tolerance, sadly. It’s hardly a scary or harmful drug at all.

@Fahad Tariq mostly red vein when I started out, but now I prefer white as it makes me less sleepy. Put a heaping teaspoon of kratom into a French press and about .75 L of boiling hot water. Steep for 20-30 min. Strain and drink as a tea.

I've been taking kratom since 2013. It's incredible. The red strains (red borneo, red bali etc) completely took my anxiety away in a way that nothing else ever could. You feel this warm blanket feeling all over your body and a deep euphoria that lasts the whole day. It also really improves your cardio dramatically and helps tremendously with delaying lactic acid build up and also with recovery after a hard work out session. It's an amazing and versatile plant. Btw, it's "krah -tohm." Not "crate -em."

@Faisal Kabir Never took any pills so I can't help you with that. It's always better and cheaper to get the dried powder and start with half a tea spoon and add more until you hit a sweet spot that you're comfortable with. Don't underestimate how strong this stuff can be.

I'm going to give y'all my take on Kratom. It's in the coffee family, and therefore is not technically an opiate. But it does interact in a weird way with the opioid receptors in the brain. It does help with certain types of pain. But I'll be honest. I have migraines and since having Covid a year and a half ago, I cannot tolerate alcohol at all because of the severe migraines alcohol triggers. Therefore, I brew a cup of Kratom tea and it gives me a nice little buzz. Like Joe said, if you are up and moving around, it does not impair you. I'll almost forget I took it. But if I lay back and relax, it puts me in a very happy place. So, it does get you high to a degree in a non-impaired sort of way. I take it once, maybe twice a week.

Part of why you had a strong reaction is that you didn't have a built up tolerance like your friend may have had. So for example I have been using kratom for 6 years now to help with arthritis, back pain (post surgery), muscle spasms and nerve shocks. Doctors used to manage my symptoms with hydrocodone and I hated it. It effects your brain way too much. Anyhow, starting out with kratom 6 years ago I only used 1.5 tsps of kratom. Now 6 years later my tolerance has increased and I use 3 tsps. Now...that's not saying your friend was tolerant and not overusing it (I obviously have no idea where your friend was with that). But if you take too much you get "wobbles". Feels like the room is "wiggling" or you aren't wearing your glasses is how I explain it. If you take way WAY too much you just throw up 🤢 and it can make you super sleepy with too much too. But unless you are taking a laced product that hasn't been safely tested you shouldn't get "high" really. I in my last 6 years have only purchased from two reputable companies that share their testing with their customers to be transparent. Which you want to do anyways just so you don't get heavy metal poisoning anyway. Anyhow, just wanted to throw out first hand knowledge being a medical user of kratom for 6 years now. It definitely saves lives of those of us in chronic pain and helps us live semi-normal lives since it manages the pain a bit. So it's definitely a lifesaver when used and produced appropriately.

This is 💯 my experience I tried kratom for the first time the other day I am a heavy opiate user and I took the equivalent to about 8 to 10 pills for my first dose ever and it gave me an extremely euphoric feeling then the next day I took it again which I thought was around the same dose but could have been more as I am using powder and mixing it with water and chugging it, I did not get the same euphoria and it made me barf 🤮 then I got super sleepy

@@Eros_lux I've been buying mine from Carolina Kratom and/or Kats Botanicals. They both are absolutely upstanding! They publicly release their lab reports where they test to make sure the kratom they are selling isn't laced and that it doesn't test positive for heavy metals. I had my heavy metals tested at about 5-6 years into using it per a nasty rude doctor who was against it and my blood work came back perfect for the heavy metals. I had a run in with a biased doctor that believed mainstream media 🙄 she didn't want to see me anymore once the blood work proved her wrong. 😂 which was totally fine with me because she was TERRIBLE nasty to me over it so I was over the moon when she had to eat her words 😂 but yep, I recommend checking those two out. They both also have Facebook pages where you can ask any questions regarding products, strains, dosages, etc. Best of luck ☺️

I've tried kratom for a month and it definitely worked and wasn't bad when it did just not my preferred feeling. felt too lethargic, slow, and just gross if I ever felt anything. it was either don't feel anything or feel sick most of the time even with the same low dose. the effects are also very fragile in that too many factors can dampen or completely ruin the dose such as eating, stress, nicotine, too much coffee, not enough sleep, etc etc. Just too much hassle and not enough pay off, would rather do any other relatively safe substance instead of downing phat cups of green sludge and thinking "oh boy I wonder whats going to happen this time! Am I going to be sick, feel like I took too much melatonin, or feel like I took half a percocet?"

@p dizzle We're all dependant on something in our modern first world country lives. I'd rather be dependant on 5 grams of kratom every other day and coffee then heroin or antidepressants.

Kratom is so much easier to ween off of. Buy cheap as hell stem and vein mixes, take a couple scoops if you're feeling shitty. Stem and vein will stop withdrawal but not make you feel like you need to take more.

I would say I am dependant on kratom, but the worst that happens when I don't is I get anxious. Much better than curling into a ball and crying wanting to die from withdrawing from zoloft or xanax.

Finding kratom was one of the best things that ever happened to me. If not for it, I would be using real drugs that bring about real disaster. Even good things are often intended in proper moderation. However, it’s still an all natural plant matter (simply ground up) that is helping millions of people live a life they never thought they would have the luxury of living. I went to a Kratom/Kava bar a few months ago because someone told me about it and I got a regular tea that they serve and that was a pleasant kind of stimulant like Joe was saying. I went back like a week later and tried the double shot they offer to see what that was like, and damn it was as if I took one too many Percocet. Definitely a nice time but can for sure see it becoming a problem with the wrong person. I don’t think it should be scheduled at all though, in fact I know it helps opioid addicts come off of whatever they’re struggling with. I’m all for it.

Thank you for putting all this out there for the people. I enjoy your show with Hamilton on this subject. I'm here to say after shooting dope 10 years then I got clean and got put.on suboxone for 3 years. I finally wanted off it so I took Kratom for the withdrawals. 7 to 9 grams at a time. Im 33 days off subs but noticed opiate like mild withdrawal symptoms from the kratom. Yes it is a heady type high. But the withdrawal from kratom is real and pretty shitty.

I used Kratom for years and ended up addicted to it. I thought of it as the devil that had control over me. Then around a year ago I started using fentanyl, I switched back to Kratom 8 days ago and have a new found respect for the plant. In the last year I've overdosed 6 times 2 of which were near fatal. I overdosed on my porch at 5 am and a friend just so happened to be having trouble sleeping and for some unknown reason decided to go for a walk with narcan in his backpack. He walked past my house and found me unconscious and turning blue. No one can tell me this wasn't some kind of Devine intervention. That was the last hit of Fetty I shot.

Kratom is a great tool, and it should 100%, without a doubt, stay legal. Its risk profile is lower than cigarettes, alcohol, prescription painkillers etc. However, too many people fight too hard to mask and downplay Kratoms effects. If I take 2 grams I'm happily motivated, more social, ready to get work done etc. When I take 6+ grams (which I don't do often, maybe once a month) I melt into my couch. I feel a little dizzy (in a weirdly good way) I'm euphoric, problems don't exist, and my cognitive function is reduced, my short term memory also takes a decent hit. Would you call this a high? The term "high" is so malleable it's a useless term for practical discussions. When I take a heavy kratom dose, I am impaired. It doesn't mean I'm slurring my words, stumbling around, unable to hold a thought, or jumping off balconies, but I am not functioning at 100% capacity.

I guess it depends on your chemistry and physiology. I've been using kratom(red mengda, green and white Malay and Bali) for about 2 years now. My usual dose is about 3-5 g daily, broken up into 3 or 4 servings. I was able to kick a dependency of painkillers for my shoulder and midback. Everything in moderation. Ive gotten many people off of opiates using kratom, and then they would ease off kratom as well. I also know people that stay "high" on kratom, but that's abuse. Overall, it's a safer, natural alternative to painkillers. This is only my opinion based on personal use so be careful.

I've been using Kratom since the mid 2000's. It was originally very popular on the internet in drug communities and I don't think the general public really knew anything about it. I still use it to this day, probably more than I should, but I've suffered zero negatives from it throughout all my use. You certainly can become addicted to it but I've found it's no worse to stop using than something like caffeine. Not pleasant but certainly doable if you want to stop. It acts on the same receptors as opiates but isn't "technically" an opiate. Depending on your dosage effects will vary. At the lower dosage end it acts like caffeine, minor buzz and energy boost. With higher dosages it gives euphoria and opiate like pain relief properties. There are many different species of the plants with varying effects. It does give body effects that are similar to a light opiate high, personally I feel it most in my joints but it's more of a cerebral high.

When I first started it I had a BAD opiate problem. I was strung out on hydrocodone as well as oxy. Kratom was the only thing that finally got me clean off them and I was able to do it on my own accord without drug counseling or rehab. I've now not had a opiate high, outside of kratom use, since 2008ish. Having said that, the "science" is still out on long term kratom usage. Early papers are promising in that no negative side effects of long term use is shown but some long term users have reported heart palpitations. Much like marijuana, I consider it to be a miracle plant. It certainly saved my life and my story isn't unique, a lot of members of the kratom community online report similar stories.

Kratom took away my severe narcotic medication withdrawals (restless leg syndrome, depression, anxiety, despair, hot and cold flashes, sleeplessness, etc) for 2-3 hours per dose. I would take up to 15 capsules at a time during the worse times. I have never had Kratom withdrawal. I can attest that Kratom was a lifesaver for me! It has never made me high, only feeling "normal". I always used Red Vein Bali.

I took a ridiculous amount my first time, like 26 pills, and got the most euphoric feeling I’ve ever had in my life (I’m 32)… I’ve done many drugs and nothing compared besides fentanyl. After the euphoria my vision got super choppy, like I was drunk but a parallel version of drunk… that shit lasted like an hour. I threw up hard, it went away but damn man it was worth it for that level of euphoria. Only problem was I had an extreme tolerance to it right after the first time & never got there again. Though a safer alternative, This IS drugs, so use them for something productive, not just to get trashed

I took kratom for 4 years. At first it made me feel super euphoric. But then I started taking 12 grams per dose trying to chase that feeling. It definitely does help with pain and anxiety but make no mistake about it it is addictive. Took me about 4 months to taper off of it but now im clean. The withdrawals are really bad if you try to quit cold turkey but if you taper down it’s not so bad. I would definitely not recommend it for long term use. I took tramadol for 5 years and had no withdrawals but the kratom withdrawals are Hell. I never once abused tramadol but I was very addicted to kratom right from the first time I tried it. If you take kratom once or twice per day it’s harmless but if you start taking it anymore than that it’s super addictive. It just becomes a habit at that point and is not beneficial at all!!!!

Idk where I would be without Kratom. Now I completely agree that you need to be careful with it, but you need to be careful with anything you put into your body. Kratom saved my life.

I've been taking kratom for almost 10 years. I experimented with dosage and yes, you can get close to a high. For me, it helps with anxiety and depression but unlike prescription meds, I don't have any problem quitting. For instance, I'd taken it for years already when winter storm Uri(?) hit in 2021 and was stuck in the house when I ran out. Had no withdrawals or negative affects on my mental state after a week. I decided to wait even longer and went nearly 2 months without it. No withdrawals or anxiety attacks. I still police my dosage just to avoid spending too much but I personally haven't had any major issues with addiction or performance hampers if I randomly quit it.

If you are physically active, kratom keeps you going strong. If you are sedentary, kratom enhances relaxation. You'll probably want to sleep. Use it before exercise, but NOT before a long car drive.

Really great informative video. It was exactly what I was looking for. I like to know where it comes from and it’s purported benefits or uses. I am 34 years old and just try to for the first time because I’ve been visiting Florida for a few weeks and I was driving around and noticed they had these kava bars so I checked out a few. While doing so they each had drinks made with Kratom as well. So I tried this seltzer type drink they had. I got a euphoric feeling definitely a more creative mind. I would say it energize me. Plus I am very knowledgeable about many different herbs. I’ve been studying herbalism for several years and I have a apothecary. However I didn’t know anything about Kratom. Last night unfortunately I drank just a little bit of what I had left of that drink around 10 PM at night and I was wired all night and couldn’t sleep till about maybe 5 AM and I feel like shit today. I felt super hyper alert. I also ate some dark chocolate last night so that could’ve added to it as dark chocolate is known to have caffeine. I really smoke marijuana anymore because it also gives me insomnia. I enjoy the creativity it creates and helps to open my mind however not sleeping at all it’s usually not worth it. I had a feeling that it had some type of stimulant affect because it is a leaf therefore almost similar to a Tea. The bar that I went to also had several different colors such as red yellow or green and one was said to be more energizing and uplifting and the other was to be more relaxing which was the red color which is what I tried. I think that is possibly misleading or incorrect because just like marijuana whether it’s sativa or Indica despite the purported different affects of relaxation or mind stimulation it is still the same substance. Just a different strain. So with Kratom I believe no matter what if you are hardwired a certain way it’s going to affect you in that way. I see comments of people getting off Suboxone for this drug or herb. Good for them. I’ve never had a problem with addiction to opiates. I was looking for it for help with inflammation and arthritis as I fractured my hand in several places and never healed correctly. I also have pretty bad social anxiety and I’ve been in a severe depression because of other traumatic experiences I had. No matter WHAT effects I guarantee these are not as bad as antidepressants or anxiety medication such as clonzapam or trazadone or sertraline. That stuff makes me sooo tried and yawning. No matter what, if it’s natural in its natural form like kratom. As long as ppl don’t abuse it it’s okay in moderation. It’s those teenagers taking handfuls and constantly that are idiots trying to get messed up off of it that would cause ill effects. Which tbh would’ve probably been me in HS. I was smoking weed all the time, abusing prescription drugs like vicodin and adderall. But def not an addict now and alll the ppl that say it’s helped them kick alcohol or heroin or suboxone I have Zero compassion for. If your only excuse is emotional use as in those vices gtfoh. 1:53 - Take it in powder form with tea or juice and you can regulate the effect better. I used it for 2+ years and quit because it IS addictive and kills your libido - at least in my case. I was using about 1 kilo per month, and when you dose over 10 grams or so, the high is very similar to a Percocet buzz, but without the respiratory depression that scares most people about opioids (it's not an opiate - it's an opioid. BIG difference). It helped me quit drinking after 30+ years of heavy/almost daily use. Plus, it relieves anxiety and joint pain (red strain is associated with pain relief). It's helped a lot of people, so my feelings about the push to regulate it are on the side of caution. I think that it hasn't been scheduled by the DEA (yet) because the pharma companies are looking into using it as a maintenance drug that they can use to make a shit-ton of money. Hamilton Morris is a way better source of good information on this substance.

Obviously Joe has never done opioids before (Describes the feeling as a novelty) because the effects are almost identical, just not quite as intense as taking something like oxy. The only real difference I felt between Kratom and other opioids is that my extremities would get this strange yet pleasant tingly feeling and for some reason Kratom made me more prone to dizzy and nauseous feelings in higher doses and I definitely hurled on it a few times lol, but yea you can get very high on the stuff for sure. At one point I did it consistently for about 9 months straight. Coming off of it was uncomfortable but definitely not horrible or overwhelming compared to most drugs out there.

As someone who's in chronic pain all the time, I'm disappointed in Joe. That feeling he got only happens the first few times, and it's not nearly as pronounced as marijuana one bit. I take Kratom and proud of it. Be careful not to abuse it. Taking ten isn't even technically abusing it. Shit man take ten tylenol and see how you come out. I started taking kratom in hopes I would stop using oxycodone. It definitely helped. I was motivated to work and all that jazz but I eventually saw myself getting addicted to kratom. Started on the capsules then I started buying the kratom shots (concentrated kratom extract) and it slowly got worse and worse. Sometimes I would take 3 shots in one day. And for those who don’t know the shots are anywhere from $15-$20. Ended up doing a bunch of research on it and found out that in high doses it can be potentially dangerous. So I quit it cold turkey and now I’m back on fucking oxys. FML!!!

It’s such a nice high though in the sense, when you start doing things and being productive, you really don’t notice it. High dose of Kratom is very similar to a good vicodin buzz from my experience. Without much of a tolerance it can definitely get you high.

Many people use it as a alternative to strong opiates because it's not AS addicting as pills or heroin. It also helps with withdrawal symptoms for many people.

I don't think there have been enough studies into it's long term effects on the body, but I believe in most countries where is grows naturally it is illegal for the most part, and people seem to become dependant on it and can have health issues as a result in the longterm, particular with their renal system(the kidneys).

I think Kratom in conjunction with legal/medical Marijuana could very well help cure the opioid epidemic if the research and funding is there, however it seems the U.S. Government for the most part wants to get ahead of that and have Kratom put on a long list of other drugs that are illegal in the states that could potentially help a lot of people.

Weed is a terrible drug, if anything I think weed is going to end up ruining more lives than it helps, I'm 19 and already I've met 2 people who went litterally CRAZY when they tried to stop smoking. Both of them had to be sent to a psych ward, the thing is too both of them were the kind of people who would try to get others to smoke with them and they'd go around telling others that it's not addictive. Yeah it isn't, until you need to smoke it to sleep and if you don't smoke it then you don't feel hungry and if you don't smoke it you don't feel any emotion, and you smoke it any time you're trying to have fun or feel good or anytime you feel anxious. The crazy part is too, you can litterally abuse the drug for months without realizing you have a problem and then you can wake up and realize that you haven't had a day where you were sober for more than a couple hours in 6, 7, or 8 months.

Kratom for me was good until about 6 months in, then it turned on me and gave me terrible depression, anxiety, tremors, hot flashes. I was addicted to OxyContin when I was 20 or so and I gotta say, the psychological side effects of quitting was worse than when I quit oxy. I will never touch kratom again. Well for me coming off 14 years of suboxone ( the drug from hell ) kratom has saved my life. I first tapered my suboxone down to .25 mg and the pain was still hell so i tried kratom and i listend to a wise man who told me to take very little and use it for 2 to 3 weeks at the most. What i found was the small dose was more than enough to remove my withdrawals and allow me to sleep. I'm now 2 weeks off of suboxone and about to stop kratom. I once tried a high dose and i got high and i have a high opioid tolerence. So if anyone is going to use it for withdrawals please please remember you only need 2 or 3 grams at the most and the pain will vanish. taking to much for too long will cause you another addiction.

I have serious sciatic nerve damage ATM, and after I take a BIG dose of Kratom, the nerve starts twitching and firing, and my foot and leg start WORKING significantly better. My muscles literally spasm out of the numbness from it stimulating the nerve with enough magnitude. I can feel my foot more. It also is a miracle for pain! I have some nasty muscle tears in my back it wipes out and even percs and oxies do ZILCH for that pain! I mean I need an ambulance pain.

I have been taking kratom for years. It's become totally habitual but I get absolutely no high from it and never did. When i began taking it, it did elevate my mood for a short period of time. My favortie time to take it is during the 2 oclock hour when working and you begin to drag ass. It will give you a slight pick me up but certainly not considered a "high"

I just started taking Kratom to help aid me through the aches and pains of training. I don't really take anything more than a teaspoon around once or twice week when I remember I have it. I've also taken it while I study for focus. All in all, I've never felt anything and I've chalked it all up to placebo for me. Maybe I'll take more...hm.

Kratom has really helped with my mood. I’m more thankful and happy, and since using it I haven’t had any bouts of depression, i usually go in and out. Before, I was so blah, I don’t use it all the time, but in the morning with my vitamins. I don’t smoke (anymore) or drink

It only sounds excessive because the capsules that kratom are sold in only hold a half gram so 10 pills equals 5 grams which is actually a very common low-medium dose for most people.

Kratom doesn't get you high. 😂😂😂😂 If you have chronic pain it simply helps relieve the pain. It so much better than having to go to pain management to be given 10 pills and be treated like a criminal. 10 stars for Kratom. Use it responsibly like anything else.

Joe has a very low tolerance for opiates and I remember him saying he was very out of it on basic hospital opiate protocols. So for him it is a "high", for others it is a life saver that gets them through the worst of the agony of withdrawals.

My sister has fibromyalgia and had been taking like 6 Vicodin a day, antidepressants, and other prescribed addictive prescribed drugs and has spent 1 1/2 year unable to do anything because of pain. my brother in law was passing out because of the pain of herniated discs. Both started with kratom and they are both off of prescribed drugs. They are functioning. My sister can now take care of her family. I have severe migraines and a possible torn tendon. I took the green kratom. I take Tylenol with codeine with caffeine for migraines. After taking one of the green kratom I wasn’t sleepy or drowsy. My pain in my arm went away but I got a rebound headache. I guess you would have to be in pain to understand people who are taking these pills. What I’ve learned is that people have to be very careful with kratom because people who make them can add things to them. But if I could I would rather take kratom but not the one that makes you drowsy instead of all the prescribed drugs for pain. But everyone needs to really make sure that we are careful of what we take.

In Malaysia, we call it ketum, some people here that used it for traditional medicine, boil the leaves and drink it like a tea it's good for pain relief, sore muscles, diabetes, etc. And some people that want to get the "kick"/high from the plant here used to boil the leaves and mix it with cough syrup or strong carbonate drink like coca cola, pepsi or mountain dew.

Anyone thinking about using kratom, or just starting out with kratom, I would suggest to be very careful, and practice strong self-discipline. If you start taking it more and more, you can easily get to the point where you need to take it all day long morning to night, and can't go more than an hour or 2 without it. And once you are at this point, quitting is extremely difficult. It's a long arduous, horribly depressing battle.

I understand your point and agree with you about moderation but everybody is different. I took it often throughout the day when I first found it. Now I have it once every few days (couple times a week) in the morning and I don’t Jones at all… It’s so mild that all that addiction worry was just in the mind. At least that was my experience. ☮️💚

There are many different strains of kratom, some are for energy, pain or stress relief(getting high). Ultimately it’s just a tea. It contains an alkaloid that disrupts certain pain receptors, much differently than an opioid. My wife, who suffers from severe chronic pain from 19 surgeries, survives from off the red strain which is pain relief only. She can’t have NSAIDS and doctors believe that a persons pain should be capped at a certain level, this is the only way she makes it through most days. Kratom is definitely not to be compared with an opioid. She takes 15 pills 4x daily with out any high.

Kratom is a great tool if you have self control. As with everything else, if you take too much the adverse effects (many of which haven’t been documented or studied) will creep out. Everything in moderation.

I've never been high from kratom. When I was trying to figure out my sweet spot as far as dosing I took too much twice. I didn't get high. I got so nauseated I had to go lay down.

I take around 30 grams a day and have for over a year straight now. I split it into 10g doses 3x daily. Definitely started feeling side effects of muscle soreness and aches, constantly dehydrated, mood swings, and no energy if I miss a dose. It has so many benefits but I have an addictive personality and have seen the negative sides too it. Gives me such a sense of optimism and motivation and helps u have a positive outlook on things.

I have asbergers and Kratom helps me chill/normalize to a degree but I’ve noticed quick access to information recall is affected to some degree on higher doses. You don’t want to take high doses for long periods or you WILL experience withdrawal symptoms for about a week. Taper off progressively for about a month to avoid that completely. Enjoy.

Taking kratom every day they have done for a long time. Have been sick the last few days too so have taken a little extra it has worked well so far. Feeling shit weird type who yes drank 20 cups of coffee completely shaky and uncomfortable feeling in the chest. What should I do, this is dangerous. Do they happen if you take them when you are sick. Know that you should not drink alcohol with viruses in the body. Can they harm anything if you take kratom sick? So they do not go to heart well?

Today they were like this, I did not feel the usual feeling I usually get. So thought it was tolerance took more and more. Now I am shaken completely overstimulated, they feel like in a negative way. Like a caffeine overdose.

Kratom is very helpful for people with opiate addiction or dependence once you find the right strain and dosage. It definitely boosts mood, helps pain, and constricts pupils mildly and helps withdrawal symptoms but it has nowhere near the euphoria or withdrawal of opiates. It is more relatable to taking an 800mg ibuprofen with a cup of coffee.

It does give you a "HIGH" but it's different... it's a powerful experience for sure, a very positive one! By the way, there's a big difference between the farm grown Kratom and the wild harvested Kratom. I get my Kratom from Borneo Energy, it comes from the jungle of Borneo in Indonesia. I will say, after using this stuff for about 5 years now. I take about 10 to 15 capsules 5 days a week and I am definitely addicted and dependent on it for my work week. While it is definitely something I’m working to ween myself off of, it IS better than getting opiates off the street and I will always stand by that. I truly believe I would be dead right now if I continued the path I was on before I found out about kratom. That being said, Kratom has its own side effects and addictive qualities just like any other substance. Not a miracle product but I think it’s a better alternative

I tried Kratom about 8 yrs ago now, I had just quit the mdone clinic & was (after 4 months) still feeling the same : shitty & freakn awful. So I did all kinds of searching & tried many things that didn't help at all, then I came across Kratom. The local health vitamin shop(only 1 in my city at that time) & the Kratom didn't help. That being said, fast forward to now, my friend has got it all down to a science on how much to take, etc. ... so, I'm gonna give it another try... My only question is will it help this time, knowing more about it & how much to take... I'm not tryn to get high, I just want to feel normal & get off my medication I no longer need... anyone experience the same thing??? is it like cannabis, first time you don't get "high" (I hate using that word with cannabis) but the next time you do feel it ?? Any advice from others who may have been close to my description?? Thx in advance!!

I am trying Kratom now. Not an opiate addict but a marijuana user who just cannot find marijuana plus wanting to get off of alcohol for the most part.

I like it. Joe was about right about it and it is hard to describe. You are high but not fucked up high. It relaxes you but it makes you want to do stuff. I walked six miles on a relatively hot day today. I can also kick back and watch TV. Or on the Kratom the other day in the pool. I really like it. It’s a buzz but it’s your buzz, you don’t act a fool, it feels wonderful and everything is good. About it.

To me it feels like a weak version of Oxycodone. About the best way to describe it.

Kratom saved my life. I was trying to get off heroin by buying suboxone tabs off the street. I had moved away and my source screwed me. The withdrawal from suboxone was worse than heroin. I didn't sleep besides micro naps over the course of 5 days. I found out about Kratom and was able to find a place that sold it. I took 4 grams of kratom with water and all of my symptoms went away within 10 minutes. My vision wasn't blurry, body pain went away, suicidal thoughts diminished, resting heart rate went from 140 to 100.
