I grew up with a dog just like the one in the picture. Her name was Nicki, and she was a pure white greyhound with big brown eyes, a red collar, and she even held her ears just the same as the dog in the picture. It's been so long since she's passed, I don't know if she'd recognize who I've become since.

Even if I'll only ever meet her again in my dreams, I like to think that this video somehow finding its way to me is maybe a sign she still remembers the boy she once knew. Every dog's life has an end, but maybe their love does not.

Yup and Lookaftering was actually a comeback album. She was huge in the 60s and 70s and just kinda disappeared. You should check out the Prospect Hummer EP she did in 04 with Animal Collective. Amazing how she sounds like she hasn't aged a bit compared to her work half a century ago.

I'm not sure why but I've began to associate these songs with the beginning and end of all things. I listened to this song when I bought and moved into a house with my girlfriend. I will listen to it again decades in the future, when she is my wife and passes away (unless I go first). I listened to it again when I got a sweet innocent puppy, knowing that I will again listen to it when this sweet pup passes away. In between, I listen to this song as a reminder that everything in life is fleeting and the clock is ticking away. Do not waste a single minute of your life.

I couldnt be there when my cat died, and it still weighs on me today. She got really old, 18, and lived a peacefull life. Her death was calm and without any problems, but I wasnt there to say goodbye. I didnt realise that the last time I saw her was going to be the last, and I didnt get to say my farwell. I am 14, and she had been with me all my life. Not having her around felt empty, and Im still getting used to having her. Losing a pet or animal can be so hard, maybe even as hard as losing a person.

If it helps, I was in a similar situation a several years ago. My cat got heart failure so we had to put her down so she didn't suffer too much. I was only around ten or so so the vet thought that it would be best if I wasn't in the room when it happened. I think in retrospect that was a bad mistake - it was the first time I had had a pet die when I was old enough to fully grasp the permanence of death, and the fact I wasn't there when she died and the fact that the last I saw of her was her looking back confused at me when the vet took her away made things worse rather than better. Sorry if this was a bit random, it's just something that still makes me sad sometimes, even though I'm 17 now.

I remember me and my ex girlfriend (girlfriend at the time) were listening to music and this song was in the Playlist for the first time. As soon as she heard it, she started crying saying it was so sad. She probably didn't even really hear the lyrics. It just resonated sadness to her.

It's been years since that happened, but listing to it again now the lyrics pretty accurately describe how our relationship ended.

I have a faint memory of listening to this kind of music during my Pre-K years when nap times were a thing. It would be dark and a little scary but nice because I remember the noise of the fan and the fact that lots of kids were there too, so there was also a presence around me it was incredibly comforting. and then the music from the boombox would play and it would sound vaguely like the instrumentals in the background. I love how in this painting the dog looks at us in acknowledgment with what looks to be a small hint of curiosity and amusement, as if it knows what's going on in our minds or something only it knows. Such a subtle but wonderful detail to the whole piece.

This song is reminds me of a guy that I met 5-6 years ago, I was so in love with him and I started a friendship with him at first, I don't know why or how I had feelings for him even though I never loved a boy but maybe it was because of the way he was talking, the way he was smiling at me, his look, everything were so perfect, in the last days of school I noticed that he start to get change, but I was still hiding my feelings and whenever he was getting colder my feelings were getting bigger, and then he transported to another school and after three years of no see I tried to message him to tell him about everything and how I felt for him but sadly it was too late for me... He looked like a different person, like we never even met, and whenever I was trying to talk about our old days he was saying "it was all a part of past" and when I tried to tell him about my feelings cuz I couldn't hide it any longer, he started to laughing at me :) I didn't know what to do so I start to apologize to him but he keeps laughing at me, and after that I was really in q shock even though I was trying to act normal with him from that time and I'm still dreaming about him, he still have that smile on his face.

And even after everything that happens I still can't stop thinking about our old days, it was all like yesterday.
