Not surprisingly, she had her first stage experience at the age of 13 as a vocalist to her father in Antalya, where they had moved from İzmir due to her father's work arrangements. In fact, it was her first step into professional stage carrier.
After a while, she was performing jazz and pop songs in big hotels and resorts as a part of duets, trios and orchestras she formed with her father. Even in those years, Burcu had started to build her own audience and fan base. All those who came to listen to her upon hearing about her reputation were amazed by the strong voice and musical prowess of the young girl. Many who heard her sing jazz songs thought she was from England or the United States. "White girl with a black throat" is a nickname coined during those days.
Her parents divorced when she was only 7 years old. As a result of yearning she had for her mother during all those years, she returned to İzmir when she was 18 and began to live with her mother. During the same period, she continued her development by getting tuition in singing, articulation and solmization from the dean of the state conservatory of the 9 Eylül University in İzmir, Prof. Dr. Müfit Bayraşa. In those days, she had world famous classical piano player Burçin Büke listen to her lyrics and music. Going into the studio together, they made their recordings of jointly created songs.
Those recordings were sent to Raks Universal Record Company in İstanbul. A week later she was urgently called to İstanbul by the company officials Galip Kayhan and Koral Sarıtaş to prepare her first album.

Bir anda yanar tutuşur çöller
Davetsiz misafirdir
Rüzgar oynar kıvrımlarında ahhh
Coşar oynar kanında şaraptır yar
Onu arzular vurur konuşur ziller
Bir buhur tenini yakar
Oynaş, güvercin adımlarla yaklaş
Durma oyna
Oynaş, dudağın kor ellerin ateş ateş
Yüzün güneş
Oynaş, güvercin adımlarla yaklaş
Durma oyna
Oynaş, dudağın kor ellerin ateş ateş
Yüzün güneş
Rakkase yedi tülünü açar
Bir anda yanar tutuşur çöller
Davetsiz misafirdir
Rüzgar oynar kıvrımlarında ahhh
Oynaş, güvercin adımlarla yaklaş
Durma oyna
Oynaş, dudağın kor ellerin ateş ateş
Yüzün güneş
Oynaş, güvercin adımlarla yaklaş
Durma oyna
Oynaş, dudağın kor ellerin ateş ateş
Yüzün güneş
Gözlerin çöl gecesi
Her şarkı aşk hecesi
Coşar gönlüm raksın delisi
Oynaş (oynaş)
Yaklaş
Durma oyna
Oynaş (oynaş)
Ateş, ateş
Yüzün güneş
Oynaş, güvercin adımlarla yaklaş

The song Tılsım by Burcu Güneş is a romantic and poetic piece with a mystical touch. The lyrics are filled with metaphors and symbolisms that depict the emotions of a lover who is captivated and enchanted by their beloved. The first verse talks about the dancer, Rakkase, who opens her seven veils and sets the desert on fire with her beauty. She is an uninvited guest who plays with the wind and creates whirling dervish-like movements with her dance. The second verse portrays the lover who is intoxicated with desire, who hears the sound of the zills (metal rattle worn on the fingers of dancers) and longs to touch and hold their beloved. The lyrics use the imagery of a fragrance that ignites the lover's passion, and stars falling from the hair of their beloved.
The chorus, which is repetitive, encourages the lover to dance and enjoy the moment with the passion of a bird, gentle and fiery at the same time. The image of the sun and the fire is used repeatedly, which symbolizes the intensity of emotions and desire between the couple. The last verse describes the lover's eyes as the night of the desert, and their heart as the delirious dancer. The word "Tılsım" translates to "Charm" or a magic spell, which implies that the lover is utterly mesmerized and captivated by their beloved.
