Love Reclaims The Atmosphere
Burlap To Cashmere Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm staring at the mirror
As the shadows plague my room
In every risen hero there's a choir that resumes

I used to be a soldier but a painter I became
I used to walk on water but now I fan the flame

Oh the dizziness of traffic as her garden starts to wither
She opens up her violin so the darkness can forgive her
And today we'll crucify the fear
As love reclaims the atmosphere

There is guidance in transition when the body starts to rust
The earth begins to rumble and the particles of dust relay
That message of decay

Oh the dizziness of traffic as her garden starts to wither
She opens up her violin so the darkness can forgive her
And today we'll crucify the fear
As love reclaims the atmosphere

Be honest in transition when preparing for the feast

Send blessings to your critics and careful with the least of these
Release the prisoners free

Overall Meaning

The song "Love Reclaims The Atmosphere" by Burlap to Cashmere speaks about transition and change, as well as the power of love in dark times. The opening lines set the scene for the introspective nature of the song - the singer is alone in their room, perhaps feeling overwhelmed or burdened by the weight of their thoughts. The next line, "In every risen hero there's a choir that resumes," suggests that even in times of struggle, there is hope to be found in those who have overcome similar challenges before.

The lyrics continue to shift between the personal and the universal, as the singer reflects on their own journey from soldier to painter, and from someone who "walked on water" to someone who now "fans the flame". This could be interpreted as a metaphor for the struggles of letting go of past accomplishments and embracing a new identity, while still retaining the passion that fuels their creativity.

The chorus, "And today we'll crucify the fear / As love reclaims the atmosphere," is a powerful call to action - to face one's fears and let love conquer them. The image of crucifixion is often associated with sacrifice and suffering, but also with a sense of redemption and rebirth. In this song, the act of "crucifying fear" is a way of purifying oneself and allowing love to take over.

Overall, "Love Reclaims The Atmosphere" is a song that encourages listeners to embrace change and find hope in challenging times, by trusting in the power of love to transform even the darkest of situations.

Beautiful.  I woke up very early Tuesday morning and thought of the name Burlap to Cashmere.  I used to listen to you often on Klyt in Albuquerque NM.  I checked Youtube and this song came up. I listened several times in tears.  On Mother's Day  a sweet girl - close to my son was killed in a crash.  She loved the Lord and her faith  was strong faith in Him.  How she touch others in the life will continue on through others.  Hearing the phrase Love Reclaims the Atmosphere was like seeing are feeling her being released back to the Lord.  A very heart felt song however it was to be received.  Awesome guys glad to see your back.

I felt the deep inner meaning of the lyrics. Did you the band members, the song writers ever realize how the lyrics mean so many things, and can reach the hearts of so many people who are awakening? :)
