Her bite will take your soul, frozen where you stand
My eyes have never seen her so cruel
The wrath she brings, steals the warmth of my soul
Draw near, let us keep our minds,
Don’t let the dark and the cold take your lives
Hear our prayers
Pray our shadows will appear
Hear our prayers
May the God’s keep them near
We must hold on until the new year
Stay safe, until the frost is clear
To hide ourselves away, until the sun appears
Her voice upon the wind, let’s me know she’s calling
Three have fallen, but we remain, surrounded
Pain turns to absent feeling
Our grasp may weaken but our hearts won’t be still
Draw near, let us keep our minds,
Don’t let the dark and the cold take your lives
Hear our prayers
May the God’s keep them near
Pray our shadows will appear
Hear our prayers
May the God’s keep them near
We must hold on until the new year
Stay safe, until the frost is clear
To hide ourselves away, until the sun appears
Feel the cold, when the winds blow
Feel the cold, when the winds blow
Stay safe, until the frost is clear
To hide ourselves away, until the sun appears
Stay safe, until the frost is clear
To hide ourselves away, until the sun appears
The lyrics of "Shadow A Creator" by Bury Tomorrow describe a person's encounter with a malevolent force that beckons them like a siren calling. The force takes hold of their soul and freezes them. The singer's eyes have never seen this force so cruel before, and its wrath steals the warmth of their soul. Despite the danger, the singer urges everyone to keep their minds together and not let the darkness and cold take their lives. They pray that the gods keep them near and their shadows will appear. They must hold on until the new year and hide away until the sun appears. The force's voice upon the wind lets the singer know that they are calling. Though three have fallen, they remain surrounded with pain turning into absent feeling. Their grasp may weaken, but their hearts won't be still. The singer continues to urge everyone to stay safe until the frost is clear and to hide themselves away until the sun appears.
The song lyrics appear to be describing a dark and cold season, possibly winter. The force mentioned could be interpreted as different things, maybe an addiction or depression that is taking hold of the singer. The chorus, "May the God’s keep them near, Pray our shadows will appear" seems to indicate that the singer wants to confront and face their shadows, possibly symbolizing deep fears or issues they are dealing with.
