Things Change
Busty and the Bass Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She said, baby things change I said, but I feel the same She said,
well let me explain Baby, how things can change I said,
but that doesn't show How a love that could grow Would become so
strange She said, well baby, things change She said, Na, na, na, na,
na Now, now, now baby,
don't try To figure this out Or ask questions 'bout why Forever's a
promise No love can survive And trust
with hearts Just don't apply She said, '
Cause baby, things change Na, na, na, na, na, now,
now So baby I quit tryin' To figure things out About all your hearts
lyin' Forever's a promise We couldn't survive Hey,
I may be slow But I ain't blind She said, I still love you so I said,
I don't care to know She said, you once cried my name I said,
well baby, things change And let's don't go placing no blame '
Cause you know things can change Na, na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na,
na, na, na She said, you once cried my name I said, well, baby,
things change Na, na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na,
na, na, na Let's don't go placing no blame, yeah '

Cause you know things can change Na,
na, na, na, na, na Na, na, na, na, na, na

Overall Meaning

The song "Things Change" by Busty and the Bass is an emotional and introspective exploration of the idea that relationships and people can change over time. The song revolves around a conversation between two lovers, where one expresses that things have changed between them, but the other does not feel the same way. The first person tries to explain that love can grow and then become strange, and that trust cannot be applied to matters of the heart. The second person eventually accepts that things change, and that although they may not understand the reasons behind it, they should not place blame.

The lyrics of the song capture the complex nature of relationships, where two people may start out in love and then gradually drift apart. The song also explores the idea that sometimes people may not understand the reasons behind these changes, but that they must accept them nonetheless. The lyrics suggest that sometimes, no matter how hard one tries to understand or make things work, things can still change.

One possible interpretation of the song is that it is about the dissolution of a romantic relationship, where one person has moved on, but the other cannot accept it. The lyrics suggest that despite the pain of letting go, it is important to accept change and move forward.

[Verse 1]
Ten years since, that decade was a dream
Nothing was everything for who we used to be
Silver pouch, orange slice, blades out on my way
But yesterday was ours
Tell me would you stay the same

[Chorus]
Ten year joy ride taking us away
Those sacred days but you know that things can change
Things can change
Puffed up nose dives stick around we may
These wasted days cause we know how soon things change
And oh just slip away

[Verse 2]
Ten years missed, and all we hoped to keep
Oh, just been waiting here for who we used to be
Do some double dutch, pack it up and blaze it on our way
Don't need your sympathy, we'll just be listening to them say

[Chorus]
Ten year joy ride taking us away
Those sacred days but you know that things can change
Things can change
Puffed up nose dives stick around we may
These wasted days cause we know how soon things change
And oh just slip away
Just slip away

[?]
(Oh no no no no)
(Oh no no no)
Just slip away
(Oh no no no )
(Oh no no no )
(Oh no no no )
You know it's been a long time, that's been on my mind

[Chorus]
Ten year joy ride taking us away
Those sacred days but you know that things can change
Things can change
Puffed up nose dives stick around we may
These wasted days cause we know how soon things change
And oh slip away

[Chorus]
Ten year joy ride taking us away
Those sacred days but you know that things can change
Things can change
Puffed up nose dives stick around we may
These wasted days cause we know how soon things change
And oh slip away

[Chorus]
Ten year joy ride taking us away
Those sacred days but you know that things can change
Things can change
Puffed up nose dives stick around we may
These wasted days cause we know how soon things change

Just slip away

My man used to love me deeply and now that's all gone. I'm left hoping one day he'd come back to me but a part of me knew he ain't. My love grew everyday. And I don't know how long I can hold on. I'm thinking as long as there's love present in me for him I'll still go on. I miss him so bad it hurts. Things change.

@positive1821

I feel you. 2 years later, and hopefully you are already more shinier than a new penny! Currently in that situation, but a close friend that once wanted me everyday... Yea.
