Replaced the star of David for the ones in your eyes
So you popped a Vicodin and ran away from everyone
And everything you thought you knew
Hangin' by the pool with the leisure dudes
Who never have a job but they got the attitude
And the clothes, and the shoes and a disease or two
When she flies
Like a ballerina babe strung so high
Everybody have you seen her?
But the side that no one knows
She shows on video
She's a San Fernando sexx star and she's fine
Telephone screamin' on the bathroom floor
Momma tryin' to call ya since July forth
Erase the message along with the life
Of everything ya knew before
Life is pretty good with your wood grain walls
Lime green carpet with your meth lab stall
Mattress full of money and five locks on the door
As she falls to the floor
From trying to fly
Like a ballerina babe strung so high
Everybody have you seen her?
But the side that no one knows
She screams on video
She's a San Fernando sexx star and she's fine
East coast transplant now in California
Can ya feel the side effects of finally leaving Georgia?
Nothin' you can do about it, daddy tried to warn ya
Allowance cut off, blue jean cut offs
Feeling like a, cut out paper whore
When she flies
Like a ballerina babe strung up so high
Everybody have you seen her?
But the side that no one knows
She screams on video
She's a San Fernando sexx star
Where are you? Where are you?
Where are you? Where are you?
Where are you? Where are you?
Where are you? Where are you?

The song "Diary of a San Fernando Sexx Star" by Butch Walker tells a story about a girl who leaves her life behind in search of fame and success. The lyrics suggest that the girl, a "Lil' Jewish princess," is unfulfilled and unappreciated in her current situation. She replaces her Jewish identity with a more alluring image, taking Vicodin to escape reality. She is portrayed as a sex symbol, with men admiring her and heads turning when she is around. However, her story is not what it seems on the surface. In the chorus, we learn that she has a secret side that she reveals on video. The girl is actually a San Fernando sexx star, known for her performances in adult films. She is a performer that has made a name for herself but is not recognized for anything else. The song is about the search for validation and attention, a desire to be seen and heard, and the dangerous paths people will take to get it.
The song speaks to the feeling of isolation, loneliness, and lack of worth, which can drive someone to leave behind what they once knew for something unknown. Ironically, the girl's fame as a San Fernando sexx star is what isolates her from society, and her only validation is from the camera that records her videos. The lyrics also suggest that she suffers from drug addiction and a broken relationship with her family. The chorus is hauntingly beautiful, and the delivery gives insight into the dark and lonely thoughts of someone who is trapped inside themselves.
