Through this emotional distancing, she created a metaphorical tower where she could remain isolated from the rest of the world.

Metaphorically speaking, she was able to look down on others from the safety of her self-made tower.

She knew no one could get too close to touch
Because of her emotional walls, she believed that nobody could understand or relate to her, and thus couldn't get too close to her emotionally.

And if life and death were such a game why did they all make such a fuss?
She questioned why people made such a big deal about the struggles of life and death, as if they were just a game to be played.

And if birds could fly high over their troubles
She imagined that if only she could just fly away from her troubles like a bird, everything would be better.

She's gonna find some of her own wings and fly
She was determined to find her own means of escape and liberate herself from the emotional struggles she was experiencing.

And no one can convince or pay her double or tell her she was too young to die
She was so resolved in her search for freedom that she wouldn't let anyone sway her or prevent her from finding it, regardless of their words or financial offers.
