Entendez-Vous
Cécile Corbel Lyrics

Echappée d'un songe
Simple mensonge ou vérité
Pour qui veut l'entendre
Auprès d'un chêne abandonné
Un enfant repose
Dans un carré de laine
Étend ses branches
"Berce l'enfant
Tout contre lui"
Entendez vous là haut
Sa chanson comme une symphonie
Resteront-elles closes
Vos portes vers le paradis ?
L'enfant s'endort
Paupières closes
Si loin de chez lui
Toues les étoiles du ciel
Vont le veiller ensemble
Du fond de la nuit
"Couvre l'enfant
Manteau d'argent"
Entendez vous là haut
Sa chanson comme une symphonie
Resteront-elles closes
Vos portes vers le paradis ?
Entendez vous là haut
Sa chanson comme une symphonie
Resteront-elles closes
Vos portes vers le paradis ?
Messire le vent
Je vous en prie
Entendez ma cause
Vous qui soufflez au dehors
Menez l'enfant
Sur le dos de la brise
"Portez l'enfant
Dans son berceau"
Entendez vous là haut
Sa chanson comme une symphonie
Resteront-elles closes
Vos portes vers le paradis ?
Entendez vous là haut
Sa chanson comme une symphonie
Resteront-elles closes
Vos portes vers le paradis ?
The lyrics to Cécile Corbel's song Entendez-Vous tell the story of a child who is lying next to an abandoned tree. As the tree's branches stretch out over the child, they seem to be singing to him, and the child is soothed by this melody. The lyrics encourage listeners to open up to this story from the past, whether it be a dream, a lie or the truth, and to let themselves be moved by it. Cécile's voice is soft and gentle, perfectly complementing the soothing message of the lyrics.
The child eventually falls asleep, comforted by the tree's song and the stars that come out to watch over him. The wind takes notice of the child, and is asked to carry him away gently. The overall message of the song seems to be about the comforting power of nature, whether it be a gentle melody sung by a tree, or the gentle breeze carrying a child to safety.

“Can you hear?”
It is a story
About the old
From a dream
An ordinary lie
Or truth
For those who want to hear it
By an oak-tree
Foresaken
A child lies
On a wool scarf
And the dozing tree
Is stretching its branches
"Cradling the child
Right against itself"
Can you hear from up above?
This song like a symphony
Will they remain closed
The gates to heaven?
The child is falling asleep
Closed eyes
So far from his home
All the stars in the sky
Are to watch over him together
From the dead of the night
"Cover the child up
With a silver overcoat"
Can you hear from up above?
This song like a symphony
Will they remain closed
The gates to heaven?
Can you hear from up above?
This song like a symphony
Will they remain closed
The gates to heaven?
Messire Wind
I beg you
Hear my cause
Since you blow outside
Lead the child
On the breeze's back
"Take the child
Into his crib"
Can you hear from up above?
This song like a symphony
Will they remain closed
The gates to heaven?

¿Escuchas?
Esta es una historia
De tiempo pasado
Para escapar de un sueño
Mentira simple o verdad
Para quien quiera escucharlo.
En un roble,
Abandonado,
Un niño descansa,
En un pedazo de lana.
Y el árbol que duerme
Extiende sus ramas
"Mece al niño
Todo en su contra"
¿Escuchas allá en lo alto?
Esta canción como una sinfonía.
¿Se mantendrán cerradas
Las puertas del paraíso?
El niño duerme
Sus párpados cerrados
Tan lejos de su casa
Todas las estrellas del cielo
Van juntas a verlo

It is a story
Of the past,
Slipped from a dream
Simple liar
or truth
For those who want to listen to it.
At the bottom of the oak
abandoned,
A child is lying
In a square of wool.
And the sleeping tree
Is speading his branches
(Rocks the child
Against him !)
Are you listening up there
This lullaby like a symphony .
Will the Heaven's doors
Remain still closed ?
The child is going to sleep.
His eyelids closed,
So far from his home,
All the stars of the sky
Are going to take care of him
From the depth of the night.
(Cover the child
Silver coat !)
Are you listening up there
This lullaby like a symphony .
Will the Heaven's doors
Remain still closed ?
Mister Wind,
Please,
Listen to my request.
You, who are blowing outside
Please, guide the child
On the back of the breeze
(Carry along the child
In his cradle !)
Are you listening up there
This lullaby like a symphony .
Will the Heaven's doors
Remain still closed ? X2
Enjoy and have a nice day ;)

SunShd What language is this?
@sunb5738
Rachael Barfield it's French but she also sings in English and Breton in other songs 😄
@cecilepetit.
@SunShd Merci pour les paroles !
@cecilepetit.
@SunShd C'est bien Cécile Corbel qui écrit ses propres paroles ? Parce que c'est pas précisé dans la description
@bernarddoubravass7123
@Cécile Petit une illuminée
@conlinrei5954
Cecile has such a distinct and gorgeous style that sets her apart from other artists, I personally adore this kind of change and her voice sounds like whispers of an angel. Well that's my opinoin at least, she's just so amazing!
@dj_koen1265
Its definitely a recognizable style almost to a fault
I don’t really love her stuff besides arrietys song but idk how to feel about it
