Elvis performed this song with full conviction and power, risking his entire career and life. He stood up for everyone. I think his Christmas song was the ultimate gift and pure Spirit to comfort everyone in shock and grief. He also recognized his responsibility to everyone. He was given the soul mission to unite musical influences and the light and dark, sacred and profane. There were many influences inside him burning passionately and he realized the choices he'd made had brought a new civilization into life and all the violent things that will happen as something completely dies and something completely new comes in. His realness and rawness here is a reflection of his devotion to the truth.

Incredible technology used to make them look like they are standing together on the stage. Elvis is old school masculinity and Celine would have been working hard to stand next to him, lol!! They're voices and passion and love for the audience touched my heart and is bittersweet. Holograms... I'm speechless!

He was at his prime back when he sang this live and raw and real. She's in her prime her also. Knowing them both as artists this duet touches me. Very much.

And knowing their struggles and passion and pain as performers and what's sacrificed, I respect them both all the more. The Beast of the music industry always lurks and now Celine is vulnerable and her health is poor. Her husband loved her deeply and took care of her in the music industry like no super star ever. She's royalty and without him she's been a Queen without her most trust King. Not easy. Not at all.

This was a beautiful artistic expression and achievement!! Everyone who created it should be thanked and honored for the expression of artistry involved. 🙏🏻

What made Elvis unique is simple: he WAS music. He didn't just sing, play guitar and move, he became his music and it exploded through him. All the energy and emotion of every song was there inside him and he shared it with us for such a short time. Nobody else will ever come close. ❤️

Elvis always thought no one would remember him. I wish he could see how much impact he had on people and music. I wasn't born when he was alive but my mom's a huge Elvis fan and i was brought up hearing his music. My mom has all the newspapers from the day he died, a thankyou card which Vernon sent out to the fans who sent flowers. My mom has some amazing stuff and has visited Graceland twice she's a huge fan. The King wore the crown in all his power in his epic comeback. I've long said the '68 Comeback Special was his greatest series of performances. Too bad the TV audience only got the edited, polished show. The clips (which are viewable) of all the performances at NBC's studios that were filmed to produce the show include some epic renditions of the set list for the show. Elvis was at the top of his game.

Elvis was the earthquake that triggered it all and The Beatles were the resulting tsunami that swamped everything and re-drew the landscape. They are the only two popular music acts who will be remembered in history, like Mozart and Beethoven. Lots of other great music since (and Celine can be proud of her part in this performance) but nothing had impact like The King in the 50s and The Fab Four in the 60s.

Lisa Marie dying today hit different. Growing up, Elvis was guaranteed to be playing on my Grandparent's radio. Lisa Marie is Elvis' only child, the only thing "left" of Elvis. It just reminds me of my Granny & Grandad. 🥺😢

The shear power of Elvis’ voice in this song is just overwhelming. I’ve thought for 50 years THIS was one of his most heartfelt and spirited songs. I’d put it up there with his early ‘70s live versions of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. This version with Celine is powerful and VERY well produced.

IMO this is the worst production I’ve ever heard. They took a beautifully crafted song with a distinct 60’s sound and dubbed in current pop BS to showcase a pop princess. Another blatant exploitation of Elvis f. She may have the chops (never heard a better version than her ‘Oh Holy Night’), but this was a horrible idea and worse execution. Terrible use of modern technology. Absolute BS!
