I had the pleasure of working with Kristen Stewart on Camp X-Ray ( You see me in the trailer w beard fighting), at first I wasn't sure what to expect from her. But after 2 weeks of working with her I have a huge respect for her as an actor/actress! She was professional, ready at all times and nailed her character. For her supporters you'll be happily surprised of her performance, and the others...I suggest you show her some respect, she's one of Hollywood's TOP paid actresses for a reason. Peace.

@Marco Khan I always admire her as an actress, Twilight didn't do her talent whatsoever, those movies have shitty script that made her performance look bad. Speak is her most underrated perfomance, i can't see many people making dumb excuses for her performance in that movie. She was flawslessly amazing in this movie, very talented. It's amazing to see an actor who's well known for one thing then get thrown into a different genre, you think people have ever expected Kristen to play a military in a million years??? Hell no, but hey she did a great job in the movie. Her versatile is underrated as fuck man, she still have my respect, she has always been a good talented actress, she just need a better script and director to work with like this movie that offered both of those stuff to her, she can act her ass of very well. Too bad there are just some pathetic haters who kept trashing her talent, well we both know the pathetic haters have less talent and less succesful than Kristen's entire career. When people say Kristen can't act, i recommend them some of her best work including this, i know many people are sleeping under this movie, shows how ignorant they are. She's not in the same level as Meryl Streep or Viola Davis or Frances McDormand or Glenn Close yet but atleast the best i can say about her is she can act when she was given a great material to work with. This and Speak imo is the movie where people cannot complain about her perfomance, she's that great bruh

Kristen is perfectly cast as a soldier who has to figure out whether she should blindly follow rules or think for herself, even if her thinking is flawed. It's a story about humanity and compassion and I can't think of another actress who is better at demonstrating that through her eyes without having to say a word. Great choice.

Brilliant film with a very emotional ending. It's amazing that so much meaning and emotion can be conveyed by simply holding someone's hand. I don't know much about Guantanamo or whether this film is realistic, but it made me question my views on the treatment of the prisoners, especially if some of them could be innocent.

It's interesting because if you've actually seen this movie, you'll notice that the location (Guantanamo Bay) is not used as a debate topic but rather a tool to enhance a humanity story. For playing an army guard who tries to shield emotions, Kristen Stewart fit perfectly. Maadi was terrific. I loved him in A Separation and I love him here too, and I was blown away by the chemistry of the two characters, especially when they were always separated by a door. I found myself moved tremendously at times, especially the last 30 minutes. A great surprise, and the director did a great job in editing and placing shots for a debut. 8/10

I watched this at a screening at USC earlier this year, there was a former Military Personnel in the audience stating movie/story about what is going on in Guantanamo Bay was accurate and head on. This is a MUST SEE movie...something needs to be done with the "detainees" over there, but who the hell is gonna do it??!!

i saw a screening of "camp x-ray" in june and this trailer gives us just a taste of kristen's truly remarkable performance. quite frankly, i was not surprised at how good she is in this role. i just hope IFC will market it properly.

Charged performances by both Stewart and Moaadi from beginning to end, says, who saw the film. Both actors do justice to the storyline and these complex characters without building caricatures of military and extremist personalities. Moaadi adds some appreciated humor. Bottom line: worth my time.

I guess everyone skips over how beautiful and powerful this trailer is. its really well made and sends a message to no matter what side you're on. Nobody seems to realize what a well made movie this is going to be because of their prejudice towards an actress, an actress who has the job of simply acting. its her job, y'all. most likely none of you are directors who have a cinematic eye, so all this hate is really pointless. just enjoy the beautiful trailer. jeez.

I cried at the end of this movie. Doesn't get into the politics like the trailer makes it seem - it's about two people on opposite sides of a prison door. I don't usually like Kristen Stewart but I have to giver her acting credit in this one. Well cast in this role and great performance without saying much.

I read that Kristen had the make up people put extra freckles/sun damage on her face because her character was out in the sun a lot for her job. This is a girl who is in the business for the right reasons - not fame or money or to be adored.

Well I was speaking in the context of what the movie is about. And besides, why do I need to watch movies to learn about the US military when most of the content shown isn't real or is dramatized?
Yes, I do acknowledge that not all soldiers are like this, I never said they were all unkind or anything,but again, speaking in context, I'm speaking about 'those' troops who pick up a random guy off the street and interrogate him on charges of terrorism just to give their superiors results. If you even know anything about Guantanamo, then that IS what is happening (and how about going all the way back to Abu Ghraib too?).
In no way am I inciting terrorism (didn't I say no crime should be justified?), all I'm saying is, if you want to REALLY stop terrorism and innocent people dying, look for answers in the right place instead of killing more innocent people to cover your own butt.
This is why I despise the US military, because those WRONGFULLY accused have no chance to defend themselves because in the end the system will defeat them because they are expendable in the eyes of the us government and military.

Kristen fans, it's time to face facts. She DOES have a very similar set of "looks" from one movie to another... BUT, in the case of this film, it is perfectly suited, and perhaps this is why she was cast. She looks downtrodden and hesitant, which is (arguably so...) a look she is VERY good at.

@***** Yeah but she makes Keanu Reeves look like an over actor. Yes most actors have their look and a general personality they bring to every role. This difference is that actors like Jack Nicholson have played iconic characters. He kicked ass as the Joker and he was awesome in "As Good as it Gets." You can't compare her to Christopher Walken because he is actually enjoyable to watch. Nobody will ever say that Christopher Walken is the best actor in the world but he himself is a character.

Now lets say that another Batman came out and Kristen Stewart was on the list of actresses to play Harley Quinn. Would you honestly say that she has the acting range to play such a character? Lets face it Harley Quinn demands an actress with a very HIGH range. She would need to go from a nice friendly professional to a woman who has faced a psychotic break. Now if she did get the role as Harley Quinn the movie would fail and Batman fans would never forgive her or the casting director that hired her.

@Denny Fader So, what are you saying? That she, like every other actor and actress in the world, has mannerisms that she takes with her from role-to-role. Good for you. Now, are you going to tell us that the sky is blue? She's a very expressive actress. She has the same range of expressions on her face as any other actor/actress. She's just not theatrical on film. She's a film actress and her expressions are realistic and subtle. She's not playing to the back of the room as a stage actress would do. She's playing for the camera that's right in front of her face and it picks up natural human emotion. She can do big, exaggerated emotions, too, when it's required, i.e. Welcome to the Rileys, Zathura, Panic Room.
