C.L. Blast Lyrics

Doubled up on my conscious
I was raised by some monsters
Kingpins and some mobsters
Gettin' to it is the process
In the kitchen whippin' pasta
Bustin' twos out the plastic
Vision stretch like elastic
If you hatin' nigga that's it
Lil baby I'm fed up
These niggas crazy they talkin' like ya boy ain't Gepetto
Got my foot on the pedal, what the fuck is a brake
These niggas lazy they wanna talk but they ain't got cake
I promise we not gon relate, I wake up and pray
I get to these blessings, I got the code I'm crackin' the safe
You scared to go and take a risk, you playin' it safe
I got you nervous, you wanna hate while I'm runnin' the game
Niggas I've just been goin' insane
Doubled up on my conscious
I was raised by some monsters
Kingpins and some mobsters
Gettin' to it is the process
In the kitchen whippin' pasta
Bustin' twos out the plastic
Vision stretch like elastic
If you hatin' nigga that's it
Switchin' the flow up, I got my dough up
I'm in the crib with a ting with her toes up
Feedin' me grapes, feelin' my face
I used to whip the Benz like it was Wraith
Ain't smokin' on keef, but they know who run it
I'm Patrick Mahomes, I'm fuckin' the budget
I fuck with lil baby cause she shop at Publix
If she stay down then we go to London
Yeah, all of my brothers they riders
Never fold from the pressure we diamonds
Double up on the trips to the islands
Yeah, every day a vacation nigga
Erasin' dreams just to make it bigger
Life a uhhh, but I love a her figure
Doubled up on my conscious
I was raised by some monsters
Kingpins and some mobsters
Gettin' to it is the process
In the kitchen whippin' pasta
Bustin' twos out the plastic
Vision stretch like elastic
If you hatin' nigga that's it
I'm way too focused that so I'll never fall down
I've been in the city puttin' on for Tana town
Quit playin' nigga man you know who holds the crown
Humbled all my ego so them checks in big amounts
I'm way too focused that so I'll never fall down
I've been in the city puttin' on for Tana town
Quit playin' nigga man you know who holds the crown
Humbled all my ego so them checks in big amounts
Doubled up on my conscious
I was raised by some monsters
Kingpins and some mobsters
Gettin' to it is the process
In the kitchen whippin' pasta
Bustin' twos out the plastic

Vision stretch like elastic
If you hatin' nigga that's it

Overall Meaning

In "Double Up" by C.L. Blast, the artist talks about his life experiences and how he was raised by some of the toughest people in the game. He mentions kingpins and mobsters, and how he learned to be strong and resilient in the face of adversity. The theme of doubling up on his conscious relates to his determination to succeed and not fall into the trap of laziness or negativity. He highlights his working process in the kitchen by whipping pasta, and the sense of satisfaction in busting twos out the plastic, which could refer to bags of drugs sold or just general success in whatever business he is in.

C.L. Blast seems to address haters and doubters in the second verse, expressing his annoyance at their talk, but their effort is mismatched when compared to his goals. He talks about his dedication to his craft and his discipline in waking up every morning to pray before going about his day. He has no time for anyone who isn't willing to take risks or support him fully. He also reflects on his current success, switching up his flow, and getting a lucrative budget to live luxuriously with his "ting" beside him.

Overall, "Double Up" is a reflective track about the artist's journey and success, and how he had to overcome obstacles while staying true to himself and his vision.

I have tried FOR YEARS to find this!! I first heard it when I was about six or seven years old and it's haunted me ever since. Didn't remember who the artist was, and I can't believe this has never showed up on a lot of old compilations I have. I am almost 63, so as you can probably add up, this has been a lost jewel for quite some time...
