Start a revolution

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to C.P.C.'s song "Revolution" convey a powerful message of hope, sacrifice, and the desire for change. The song begins with the singer describing the final night spent with someone, under the watchful gaze of the full moon. They believe that tomorrow, the world will change, but at the cost of the lives of those involved in the revolution. The lyrics question why the person they are with has a troubled face, despite the just cause they are fighting for.

The singer expresses their willingness to take up a sword and fight for the other person, even if it means risking their own life. They plead for the person to stop taking everything away and to not rob the meaning of the fight. In a tender moment, the person holds the singer and whispers with a trembling voice, acknowledging their understanding. The singer, feeling helpless, suppresses their desire to speak out and cheer the person on, and instead smiles and says, "Do your best."

In the second verse, the person reassures the singer that they will show them a future where the distorted sky is replaced by a proud sunrise. The singer pleads for the person not to leave, claiming they don't want peace or freedom without them. However, the person is determined, with unwavering eyes, and silently takes up their sword and leaves. The singer watches them depart, praying for their safety and yearning to follow them if the sky were to become distorted the next day.

Overall, the lyrics of "Revolution" speak of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of justice and change. It portrays the courage and determination of the singer who is willing to fight for their cause, even when faced with uncertainty and the possibility of losing the person they care about.

It must be such a joy to be able to trust the leaders and know that missteps will be corrected...

Thank you, Robert for all your thoughtful and penetrating analyses, including your Closer to Truth series.

It has just occurred to me why some countries hate the CPC - it is because it is a challenge to their countries' systems of governance.
No country can import how the Chinese government their country. This is because the current system is also derived from their nearly five thousand years history of governance.
I hope the Chinese central government will get rid of the inefficiencies of the local government, their inadequacies and also getting rid of corruption throughout the whole structure of governance.

@Sean Giang The Qin Dynasty during Qin Shi Huang was an aggressive country, colonising all the other states, over extended itself. Qin Shi Huang is really a bawang 霸王 [despot] like a ruler of a banana republic and the USA.
The current China has learnt the lessons of Imperial China and China has NOT gone to war with any country for over 40 years.
It is like comparing heaven and earth. I therefore do not think that your suggestion is not valid.

@zhangruyi3153

@Sean Giang Sean, it seems you are really anti China, just like the Americans and their colonial friends. If you are so anti China, why are you watching videos from a Chinese channel? Just to delude yourself?

@rap3208

@@zhangruyi3153 Those states were still China. It had thousands of years of oppurtunity to go invade and conquer when it was one if not the most powerful but it didn't. It didn't colonize its bordering and neighbor nations like Kazakstan, pakistan, vietnam, japan, laos, siam, SE Asia, etc. ...it kept to itself. Even when its fleets went exploring and found Africa, it didn't do any conquering and colonizing. You know who conquered and subdivided africa among themselves and made slaves of it? the europeans.

@bingolittle8725

Are you a fan of the CCP who likes using websites banned by the CCP and probably living in country not ruled by the CCP?

A relatively authoritarian meritocracy that keeps a firm grip on Party members as well as the countries capitalist class in order to reduce corruption while ensuring it can provide the basic social and cultural needs of the population at large, is a lot more sophisticated and sustainable form of governance and productivity than that of so called liberal democracies; with their emphasis on private ownership and profit for the benefit of the few; a form of aristocracy, in which the wealthy can buy their way into politics and in which corruption is inevitable and all pervasive.

@kapk

as well as unchecked spending in order to enrich and bail out the top 0.1% for the latter, which brings war into focus as we have at present.

@persimon6598

Authoritarian is good. Even in the west, we refer to "the authorities" and look to them to make things run smoothly and order us kept. When the authorities abdicate their powers, it's when things go awry and not get done. That's what has happened in the west. In many countries others have usurped power and there's no real authority and "each person does what is right in his eyes". The west tries to use the word "authoritarian" to bash China, but Chinese don't recognize the term. For them, the government must govern, and when it does, it's not authoritarianism but the rule of law. In the west, there are laws, but often they are not enforced. Making sure that people obey the law is not authoritarianism. It is doing what should be done, and upholding the law.
