The Truth
C.R.O.W. Lyrics

Ran into an old friend yesterday
Caught me by surprise when he called my name
He was a familiar face, from a chapter in my past
Talked for a while, I smiled and then
Said that he was seeing somebody and
Told me this was gonna last
And all the feelings I thought were gone
Came rushing back to me at once
Tried to smile and hide the way I felt
But I was thinking to myself
(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me 'cause now I know
(Truth is) When it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
We reminisce on the way things used to be
Shared a couple laughs, and some memories
Talked about the things that changed
Some for good and some for bad
Then he said good-bye and he paid for lunch
Promised that we'd always keep in touch
Grabbed my bags and grabbed my thoughts,
Walked away and that was that
And all the feelings that I thought were gone
Came rushing back to me at once
Tried to smile and hide the way I felt
But I was thinking to myself
(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me 'cause now I know
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
Now the truth is it hurts but I that the faults mine
'Cause I let him go
Tried to get over it but it's messing with my mind
(Because I know)
(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) And it's killing me 'cause now I know
(Truth is) And when it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
(Truth is) I never got over you
(Truth is) Wish I was standing in her shoes
(Truth is) When it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
(Truth is) I never should have let you go
(Truth is) It's killing me 'cause now I know
(Truth is) When it's all said and done
Guess I'm still I love with you
I just gotta be honest, I guess,
I-I guess, I'm still in love, in love, in love
The lyrics of C.R.O.W.'s song "The Truth" describe the emotions of a person who encounters an old flame and realizes that their feelings for them have never truly gone away. The song uses the structure of a conversation with the old friend as a way to reminisce on past memories and come to terms with the truth about their feelings. The chorus rings with self-realization as the person admits to themselves that they are still in love with their former partner, wishing they were in the new lover's place, and regretting that they let them go. The lyrical narrative captures the complexity of emotions that arise in such encounters, the lingering feelings and the heartbreak that follows.
The song is a touching and relatable example of unrequited love and unfulfilled feelings that are often too painful to face. The lyrics highlight the struggle between moving on from the past, while also coming to terms with one's honest and vulnerable emotions. The song's poetic structure and strong vocals contribute to its evocative and emotional appeal.

I've heard it said that if you look at your past actions/behaviours and cringe, it means you've grown as a person and you're all the better for it. Regret is just another lesson you teach yourself.
Tyler Forehand
That's some good advice right their. I just hope that Crow will see it that way and continue to see it that way. Otherwise, Crow might make the same mistake his past self did all those years ago...

Thats very very nice wisdom there, its like how we were all simps at one point and as you learn some self respect you find yourself simping less
Coren
yeah, except crow isn't Uldren, when a guardian is resurrected, they don't have their past memories or anything, they are a brand new person
Michael White
Experience is but the name that we give to our past mistakes
Frantz Lewis
The word to describe a scenario like that, is "repentance". To cause a change, one has to regret the mistake (or sin in most cases) in order to make a change for the better. What you've heard is a very true thing, but is a very complex subject to find the root of it.
LJ Evans
The way you intentionally looked up and looked back to find crow disappeared really made this scene great
Shade
Almost a year later and it definitely seem that Savathun actually counted Crow as a "friend" and really didnt want to use him in any way. I love Savathun

Well, she did gain something from this. She planned to become a Guardian. She put Crow through this to see what would happen, because she knew there was a good chance she would also have to go through this.
Bitrate Billy
@Nevermore 728 true, he was her test run of this, but she clearly enjoyed crow's presence and wasnt bullshitting him at any point, given that crow would learn who he is inevitably she might as well give the truth to him instead of allowing someone to screw with him and turn him against the traveler.
