After releasing a number of singles in 2016, including "Lo Hace Conmigo", "Los Chikos de Madriz" and "Antes de Morirme", Tangana attained mainstream success in Spain with the release of "Mala Mujer", later included in his debut studio album Ídolo (2017). He continued to explore urbano and hip hop music on his mixtape Avida Dollars (2018), which spawned the top twenty single "Llorando en la Limo". Tangana continued to release standalone singles to commercial success such as "Bien Duro", "Booty" and "Nunca Estoy". He experimented with flamenco and Latin music on his second studio album El Madrileño (2021), which was nominated for the Premio Ruido and received a Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year. El Madrileño became the best-selling album in Spain in 2021.
Throughout his career, C. Tangana has won nine Latin Grammy Awards as songwriter and as performer, two Premios Odeón and a LOS40 Music Award among others. He has also been nominated for a Grammy Award, two MTV Europe Music Awards and two UK Music Video Awards.
Tangana's outspoken political views have received significant media coverage. Considered a controversial musical figure within the Spanish industry, he has been accused of proliferating sexist conducts through his lyrics. He has also been accused of being a "sellout" by colleague rappers. His pesimistic view on representative democracy, the monarchy and the Spanish royal family and his high-profile relationship with Rosalía, have also been topics of media attention.

Me he cansao del primer puesto
Mejor no me digas nada
Ya no quiero más palabras
Acuérdate bien de que me tienes
Cuando quieras, ven, acá no pasó nada
Mejor dame otra calada
Mejor no me digas nada
Ya no quiero más palabras
Acuérdate bien de que me tienes
Cuando quieras, ven, acá no pasó nada
Mejor dame otra calada
The lyrics of "Párteme La Cara" revolve around the pain of a relationship that ended badly. The song starts with the singer asking for another puff or hit to either break his face or to lie to him and say that everything is still the same. He is asking for something to numb the pain or a way to forget about it altogether. The lyrics then move on to talk about how the singer is constantly reminded of his past love - he sleeps with a heavy chain on, the only thing left behind from the relationship. He admits to being tired of trying to be the best, likely for his partner’s sake, which he no longer has to do anymore. He notes that everything he works hard to achieve holds no value because it meant nothing to her. He reminisces about what life was like with her - the Gucci clothes in the closet and lavish nights of spending. However, even with all of the material possessions, the relationship was doomed to fail from the start. Through it all, the singer repeats that he just wants the other person to come back and that he is willing to forget everything and pretend that nothing has changed.
The singer's use of "Mejor dame otra calada" or "give me another hit" creates a powerful metaphor for the numbness he is desperately seeking. He is seeking oblivion from his sadness by either breaking his face or getting high. He also admits to writing about the women he loved and lost, finding inspiration from the pain their departure caused. The singer appears to be holding onto the hope that the other person will come back and also admitting that he is willing to forget and forgive.
