After releasing a number of singles in 2016, including "Lo Hace Conmigo", "Los Chikos de Madriz" and "Antes de Morirme", Tangana attained mainstream success in Spain with the release of "Mala Mujer", later included in his debut studio album Ídolo (2017). He continued to explore urbano and hip hop music on his mixtape Avida Dollars (2018), which spawned the top twenty single "Llorando en la Limo". Tangana continued to release standalone singles to commercial success such as "Bien Duro", "Booty" and "Nunca Estoy". He experimented with flamenco and Latin music on his second studio album El Madrileño (2021), which was nominated for the Premio Ruido and received a Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year. El Madrileño became the best-selling album in Spain in 2021.
Throughout his career, C. Tangana has won nine Latin Grammy Awards as songwriter and as performer, two Premios Odeón and a LOS40 Music Award among others. He has also been nominated for a Grammy Award, two MTV Europe Music Awards and two UK Music Video Awards.
Tangana's outspoken political views have received significant media coverage. Considered a controversial musical figure within the Spanish industry, he has been accused of proliferating sexist conducts through his lyrics. He has also been accused of being a "sellout" by colleague rappers. His pesimistic view on representative democracy, the monarchy and the Spanish royal family and his high-profile relationship with Rosalía, have also been topics of media attention.

Lo chingon de C.Tangana es que en sus videos siempre saca muchas referencia:
- En primera instancia se ve a C. Tangana recostado en un hotel 5 estrellas viendo a un avión en el cielo.
- Posteriormente se aprecia que Pucho decide dar un 'viaje' por los barrios de España en una limo, haciendo una referencia de 'Llorando en la limo'
- En la siguiente escena se asoma por la ventana de la limosina, como dando un vistazo al pasado y ve a una chica que claramente es Rosalía y lo que parece ser el Antón del 2016, con una vestimenta similar a la de 'Tiempo'.
- Rosalía aplaude y admira al Antón sencillo y humilde del pasado, ambos parecen estar muy enamorados, pero La Rosalía se voltea cuando ve al Antón del presente, haciendo una referencia que le dio la espalda por la fama y dinero.
- Antón sube la ventana del auto y se dirije a un Aeropuerto, donde pasa por muchos póster de una chica que simula ser La Rosalía y Antón en todo momento le da la espada.
- Posteriormente se ve la escena en el avión, con azafatas, haciendo una muy fuerte referencia a 'Con altura' de Rosalía y J Balvin, pero a diferencia, el de Tangana se ve solo y lúgubre.
- Ahora la escena del inicio toma sentido, donde sale Tangana alcoholizado en un hotel 5 estrellas, viendo el avión... A pesar del dinero, la fama, los lujos, Antón no deja de pensar en la Rosalía.
- Al final cada uno toma su avión y se cruzan, dando a entender que cada uno consiguió sus sueños y la fama, pero cada uno tuvo que seguir su camino.
