1) CCS ake C.C.S. (or Collective Consciousness Society) was a British group led by blues guitarist Alexis Korner.
Consisting largely of session musicians, and created primarily as a recording outfit, the band included Peter Thorup, vocals; Alan Parker, guitar; Harold McNair, flute; Herbie Flowers, bass; Roger Coulam, keyboards; Barry Morgan, drums; plus Don Lusher and Bill Geldard, trombone. Some of the musicians were also members of Blue Mink.
The band is best remembered for their instrumental version of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, which got into in the UK singles chart in 1970, and was used as the theme tune for the popular BBC pop programme "Top of the Pops" for most of the 1970s, and, in a remixed version, between 1998 and 2003.
Their song, 'Tap Turns On The Water', featured in the BBC Three comedy sketch show 'Tittybangbang' and another song, 'Brother', was used by DJ Tom Browne during his tenure of the BBC Chart Countdown programme in the seventies.

Blinds pulled (blinds pulled)
Lights low (lights low)
Flames high (flames high)
My body (my body)
My body
My body
My body
Is walking in space
My soul is in orbit
With God face to face
Floating, flipping
Flying, tripping
Tripping from Pottsville to Mainline
Tripping from Mainline to Moonville
Tripping from Potsville to Starlight ["pot"sville]
Tripping from Starlight to Moonville
On a rocket to
The Fourth Dimension
Total self awareness
The intention
My mind is as clear as country air
I feel my flesh, all colors mesh
Red black
Blue brown
Yellow crimson
Green orange
Purple pink
Violet white
White white
White white
White white
All the clouds are cumuloft
Walking in space
Oh my God your skin is soft
I love your face
How dare they try to end this beauty?
How dare they try to end this beauty?
To keep us under foot
They bury us in soot
Pretending it's a chore
To ship us off to war
In this dive
We rediscover sensation
In this dive
We rediscover sensation
Walking in space
We find the purpose of peace
The beauty of life
You can no longer hide
Our eyes are open
Our eyes are open
Our eyes are open
Our eyes are open
Wide wide wide!
The song "Walking in Space" by the British rock band CCS is a unique and enigmatic experience that comprises a memorable and thought-provoking set of lyrics, unusual instrumentals, and powerful vocals. The song has a hypnotic beat and a psychedelic, otherworldly sound that transports the listener on a journey through space.
The song's opening lines describe a locked-down space designed to achieve a particular atmosphere. The low lights and high flames create a sense of comfort and warmth, whereas the locked doors and blinds prevent any distractions or disruptions. The singer, however, transcends this setting and embarks on an astral journey where the body remains behind, and the soul soars through space, encountering God, and achieving total self-awareness.
The song's lyrics suggest that this journey is an escape from a world of oppression and war, and a rediscovery of the beauty and purpose of life. The singer rejoices in the sensation of rediscovering life's meaning, and the beauty of the universe.
Overall, the song's lyrics are a plea for peace, freedom, and a rejection of war and oppression in favor of universal love and beauty.
