In 1999, during their final high school year, the group represented the Kansai region in the All Japan Final of the 'Teen Music Festival'. They won the 'Encouragement Award' and were given the chance to record a demo, and have it distrubuted by a major label.
The demo was released February 11, 2001, and had the songs "FULL MOON PRAYER" and "Angel" on it. It sold well enough for them to sign a stronger contract and release more music.
After releasing nine singles, five albums, and one best compilation, the members of CORE OF SOUL decided to disband.
After an Asia-wide tour, the group official ceased on March 24, 2006.
Nakamura Fukiko is currently releasing her solo works under the name "LOVE".

The lyrics of CORE OF SOUL's song Full Moon Prayer showcase the beauty of nature and the wonder of the universe. The first verse talks about being nestled in the greenery and thinking about the golden earth and how distant it is from the maternal Earth. The chorus is a plea to God to grant the power to travel through the universe like a white rabbit dancing in the moonlight. The singer believes that God will guide her through the universe, and she won't have to rush or worry. The second verse alludes to the past and the singer's desire to be forgiven for her transgressions. The lyrics suggest a wish to start afresh while embracing the person's memories and experiences. The verse concludes with a description of a clear future that can be seen if you look straight ahead while being held by the sea.
The final chorus repeats the previous one but with a few changes. The plea to God is to forgive the curiosity and allow them to follow the trail of the moon rabbit. The singer also wishes to undertake a journey to trace the visible trail of the moon. The song ends with a request to wait until the flickering yellow light disappears from the water.

Man, they were awesome. A little known indie JPop band, and I'm still coming back to them, all these years later. This WAS and in many ways IS my jam.
