Nabozny – who has since adopted the artist name CYN – grew up in Michigan, outside Detroit .
Growing up, CYN pored over the American Songbook. CYN spent a lot of time with her grandmother listening to Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, and Carole King. The voices she grew up on were far subtler than some of the belting pop vocals of today.
During her teenage years, she tells Billboard that the first place she ever performed live was in fifth grade at her elementary school, when she sang Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain't Got You.” .
CYN performed in talent contests, posted covers on Facebook, YouTube then to SoundClick , all of which failed to produce ideal outcomes. She was rejected by a music school in Chicago, she kept making music but never shouted about it and quietly took inspiration from her new city’s surroundings .
2014, she started working on a EP, which was released on her birthday through her SoundCloud page, the self-titled EP included an intro and four songs.
CYN wrote "Thriver" and some original songs and also collaborated with producers, such as "Sorrow", " KHAI", "Midoca",...
A remix of “The Only Lo Lo Lo" from the EP "CYN" featuring "Jerms" was released to Spotify and SoundCloud on November 2014 (Video was cancelled).
The rising singer wrote “something”. The original song got more than 4M plays on SoundCloud and Spotify.
Cynthia ended up signed to Unsub records, a music label by the Super-star Katy Perry. Katy said that she loved CYN's voice, and asked her to play in her living room before asking her to join her record label.
Jul 2017, She released her debut single under Katy Perry's label the song "Together", it had a lyrics video on YouTube, then followed by another song “Only with you” on september which featured a music video.
2018, She released “Alright” and “Believer” as a part of "Blue Hour", Both had music videos received more than 1M streams. September, 2018 she released her biggest hit song “I’ll still have me” and the final song from " Blue Hour" , the fan favorite song received +8M plays on Spotify & YouTube within 6 months, CYN’s “I’ll Still Have Me” explores the aftermath of a failed relationship with a performance that is both haunting and beautiful.
April, 2019 “Terrible ideas” which featured an intimate video directed by Quinn Wilson, in partnership with CHANEL Beauty. "Terrible Ideas" marked a decided shift in sound for CYN, revealing an edgier and darker side to the rising pop artist. followed By "Holy Roller", a song about sacred dedication and blind faith in someone. The song received many criticals acclaims and was her first song ever to be sent to radios .
August 2019, "Never-endin' Summer" got released and revealing that "Mood Swing" is coming. The upbeat and eclectic debut EP arrived September 20th, it contained the immaculate singles “I’ll Still Have Me” and “Holy Roller”. followed sooner by an "even moodier" rework of the debut EP, where its tender tunes about heartbreak and recovery now simmer alongside soft synths and echoey electronics.
2020, on October 20th Cyn unveiled a new song “New York", an ode to the city that never sleeps.
Cyn has recently secured multiple placements on popular movie soundtracks, including "I Can't Believe" on Netflix's To All the Boys , "Uh-Oh" and "Drinks" for the Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman and a cover of Sixpence None the Richer's ''Kiss Me'' for Netflix's remake of the 1999 teen flick 'She's All'.

Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing your spinning step
You'll wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open handStrike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your flowered hat
We'll take the trail marked on your father's map
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me
Kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
Silvermoon's sparkling
So kiss me
So kiss me
So kiss me
CYN's song "Kiss Me" evokes a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere, blending imagery of nature with deep emotional intimacy. The opening lines paint a picture of a serene, pastoral setting where the singer invites their partner to share an affectionate moment amidst the natural beauty of "the bearded barley" and "green, green grass." These descriptions not only create a vivid and peaceful setting but also symbolize the innocence and simplicity of young love. The act of kissing signifies a connection that is pure and genuine, emphasizing a desire for closeness in a tranquil environment. The personal elements of the shoes and dress suggest a date or an occasion, marking a significant moment shared between the singers.
As the chorus unfolds, the imagery shifts to the enchanting setting of "milky twilight" and a "moonlit floor." Here, CYN deepens the romantic tone by introducing the nighttime bliss associated with a warm, summer evening. The urgency of the plea to be kissed beneath the stars captures the essence of youthful passion and spontaneity. The line "lift your open hand" suggests an invitation to partake in a dance, emphasizing the joy of movement and connection that accompanies romantic relationships. The metaphor of "making the fireflies dance" encapsulates the magic of the moment, where nature itself seems to respond to their love, amplifying the beauty of their shared experience.
The song's narrative continues to weave a story filled with playful and adventurous undertones as it revisits places that carry personal meaning, such as "the broken tree house" and the "hanging tire." These images echo childhood memories, symbolizing a return to a simpler time and the carefree nature of youth. The mention of "your father's map" adds depth, suggesting a journey or exploration rooted in shared history and discovery. This sense of nostalgia resonates throughout the song, as the couple seeks connection not just in the moment but across their past experiences, conveying a longing to build a shared future.
Throughout "Kiss Me," the repetition of the chorus serves to reinforce the central themes of yearning and affirmation. The call to kiss is not simply about physical affection; it's a profound expression of love, longing, and the urgency of seizing the moment. The imagery of silver moons and sparkling lights enhances this dreamlike quality, transforming an intimate gesture into a magical spectacle. CYN’s evocative lyrics, paired with the gentle melody, create a timeless essence that captures the fleeting nature of love, urging listeners to embrace the beauty of the moment, to cultivate connection, and to celebrate the bliss of companionship.
