The Emcee is announcing the countdown to midnight and instructing husbands to let go of their wives to welcome New Year's Eve while addressing the audience.

Sally is saying her goodbyes to her lover and admitting that although their relationship was great, it's time to move on and Sally prefers to be free and detached, which is better for her partner.
