Far Away
Caffeine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Guess we're back, and this is how we'll start it
Back on track and we will never lose it
We won't wait, this is how it's gonna be

So sit down, you weren't paying attention
Feet on ground, this is our redemption
We won't wait, this is how it's gonna be
And I'm sorry that it's come to this
A weekend lost in promises
Tears clench through a fist again

And now summer seems so far away
If you could make it through the day
We'd stay the same and everyone would change

But I'm waiting, and it's painful
To watch you change from day to day and memories
But I'm waiting and I know you
I know you're right to watch the crime from far away
You're far away.

So we're back and this is how we'll start it
Back on track and we don't want to lose it
We won't wait, this is how it's gonna be

Some let go, leave it all behind you
Just let go, wanna help you through everything
That's the way it's gonna be

And I'm sorry that it's come to this
A weekend lost in promises
Tears clench through a fist again

And now summer seems so far away
If you could make it through the day
We'd stay the same and everyone would change

But I'm waiting, and it's painful
To watch you change from day to day and memories
But I'm waiting and I know you
I know you're right to watch the crime from far away
You're far away.

The clock is ticking on our lives
Want to make a difference in this life and
Live it right, live it right.

Still I'm waiting, and it's painful
To watch you change from day to day and memories
But I'm waiting and I know you
I know you're right to watch the crime from far away
You're far away.
You're far away.

All these eyes will cry for far away.

Overall Meaning

The song "Far Away" by Caffeine appears to be about a situation where the singer and the person they are addressing are reconciling after some sort of conflict. They are determined to move on from the past and not lose focus on their goals anymore. The singer acknowledges that they have had some issues that they need to iron out but the other person seems to be unwilling to change. The verse "And I'm sorry that it's come to this/A weekend lost in promises/Tears clench through a fist again" suggests that the two had some sort of disagreement and that the issue has been going on for a while. The singer is aware that the other person is changing and it's painful for them to watch, but they are not giving up on them.

The chorus "But I'm waiting and it's painful/To watch you change from day to day and memories/But I'm waiting and I know you/I know you're right to watch the crime from far away/You're far away" suggests that the singer wants the other person to know that they still care about them and believe in them, but they also recognize that they need to give them space while they work through their issues. The lyrics "All these eyes will cry for far away" could mean that there are observers who are unhappy with the current situation and wish that the two would reconcile and overcome their differences so that things can get back to the way they once were.

I went without coffee for 2 months during boot camp. The day I graduated I went to a restaurant with my family and had a cup of coffee, and it was truly amazing. Couldn’t stop talking/smiling. Didn’t eat anything, just sat there basking in caffeine’s glory. Very powerful. And I’m very addicted.

I was so tired on basic training, falling asleep all the time during lessons. If I had caffeine it would have been much easier to learn

My mom started giving me coffee with breakfast in 1st grade. Basic training was the longest time since I was 6 I went without coffee. My dad would have espresso and brandy breaks when he was an Airman at Lajes. We’re a family of addicts.

I basically gave up coffee three months ago, as well as virtually no caffeine intake. I had my first two shots of Starbucks espresso after three months and it was so powerful and intense I wanted to run and walk for miles for hours. That same night my sleep was utterly ruined, I woke up multiple times in the middle of the night. Very powerful drug. I think I am going to continue this caffeine free lifestyle for the foreseeable future. Decaf if I want to "treat" myself.

@heygoogle6133

How do you feel off caffeine?

@wellactually21

@@heygoogle6133you reach the state of nirvana.

@kramnewton8683

When I’ve been addicted to anything I’ve always felt that I’m either up or down. If I just consumed the drug, I’m up, and if it’s been hours since, I’m crashed, I feel I need another hit, or sleep.. It’s been two weeks off coffee for me and my energy throughout the day is just at a normal level.. There’s no huge peak in the morning, then crash by noon, then another coffee, then spending my evenings really tired/crashed. My sleeps improved, I just feel normal. I can’t believe I spent like 20 years on caffeine.
