She released an EP in December of 2008 titled Dead Flowers EP, the title track being a Rolling Stones cover. The album Own Side Now was released first in the UK in August of 2010 by Names Records, supported by several singles and extensive touring. It was released in the US in March of 2011 by Theory8 records.
In 2012 she recorded two Arctic Monkeys songs for a Record Store Day 7" single.
Her second album, The Stand-In came out in 2013.

However, when they arrive at their destination, they realize that running away will not change who they are, and they will always be the same person.
In the second verse, the singer imagines living a full and adventurous life, kissing strangers in bars and falling in love with many people. Nevertheless, even in these new experiences and with countless lovers, they still find themselves unable to escape the memory of someone who's been on their mind. The chorus then comes in, where the singer reminds us that it doesn't matter how much we run or where we go, we will always find ourselves where we're supposed to be, and alongside the people we're meant to be with.
As the song progresses, the lyrics reveal that the singer is not just referring to themselves but speaks from the perspective of someone who knows the pain of unfulfilled love. They refer to a photograph in a drawer, representing all the possibilities of what could've been but never came to fruition. They acknowledge the reality that sometimes we hold onto something, even if it's not meant to be, and even if we try to run away or move on, it will always be a part of us. The song ends with the chorus repeating the same message - it doesn't matter where we are in life, we will always find ourselves where we're supposed to be, whether it's with the people we love or the memories that we can't forget.
