1. Cali (Bruno Caliciuri) is a singer-songwriter and musician who was born June 28, 1968 in Perpignan, France.
After many years of playing in bars, villages' theaters, and in front of no body (bordeaux), Cali wrote his first album "Amour parfait". His lyrics talk about love, but the bad side of love with break-ups, clashes, depression, divorces... His lyrics are accompanied by wonderful melodies with viola (an instrument like a violin), piano, brass, folk and electric guitar. Joyful melodies and dark lyrics mixed with a powerful energy on stage made Cali pretty unique. He gives his heart to his fans, and they give thanks to him.

Resistance
Cali Lyrics

The song “Résistance” by Cali tells a story of a specific moment in French history, likely the election of Nicolas Sarkozy on May 6, 2007. The lyrics describe a feeling of despair as the singer and others watch the festivities of the winning party, feeling helpless against the power of the government. The lines “leur petit chef debout au balcon de la honte, et le peuple à sa botte” (their little chief stood on the balcony of shame, and the people at his feet) suggest a sense of betrayal and manipulation by those in power. The singer realizes the control that the government has over media, referring to them as “le grand marionnettiste des journaux, des télés” (the grand puppeteer of newspapers, TVs). Despite the sense of hopelessness, the refrain “résistance, résistance, résistance” expresses a call to action and a determination to fight against oppression.
The second half of the song shifts to a more hopeful and rallying message. The singer notices the lights and boats surrounding them and recognizes it as a message from the singer’s fellow citizens, a signal of support and unity. The lines “la mémoire est bien courte, notre France est aux fers” (the memory is short, our France is in chains) suggest a need to remember the importance of past resistance and the need to continue fighting against oppression. The song ends on a message of hope: “Nous allons revenir bien plus forts, bien plus forts que jamais” (we will come back much stronger, much stronger than ever before).
Overall, the song “Résistance” by Cali tells a story of a moment of despair and betrayal followed by the call to action and hope for the future. It is a powerful and emotional message about standing up against oppression and fighting for freedom.
