Open Your Eyes
Call To Preserve Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
See everything you meant to be
Selling yourself short when there's only so far you can
See
Though your body is broken,
Your soul remains intact
Finding wholeness in the places that you lack
Hold on, for the dawn is drawing near
Clouds of depression are fading away
For what was once dark is light again
Look up and open your eyes
See everything you meant to be
Selling yourself short
When there's only so far you can see
Though your body is broken,
Your soul remains intact
Finding wholeness in the places that you lack
Look up and see who you are has become so clear
Hold on, for the dawn is drawing near
Clouds of depression are fading away
For what was once dark is light again
Let go, let go, and open your eyes
Keep these words with you,
For I make all things new, all things new
Keep these words with you,
For I make all things new
Let go and open your eyes
The lyrics to "Open Your Eyes" by Call To Preserve speak to the potential and strength that lies within each and every individual. The song encourages listeners to look inward and recognize their true abilities, instead of selling themselves short. It acknowledges the difficulties and challenges that may come one's way, but reminds us that even if our body may be broken, our soul remains intact. The song implores us to find wholeness in the places we lack, and to hold on to hope for a brighter tomorrow.
The message of the song is particularly relevant in the context of mental health struggles, as it focuses on the importance of looking beyond external factors and recognizing the resilience within oneself. The lyrics use the metaphor of clouds of depression fading away, speaking to the idea that no matter how dark things may seem, clarity and hope can be found if we just look for it. The repetition of the phrase "keep these words with you, for I make all things new" serves as a powerful reminder that positive change is possible and encourages us to embrace it.
