Después de un tragico accidente en el local bailable Republica de Cromañón la noche del 30 de diciembre del 2004 en la que murieron 194 personas, entre ellos familiares de los integrantes de la banda, los 6 integrantes mas el escenografo y artista de la banda, Daniel Cardell, quedaron procesados judicialmente por Estrago Doloso, pero despues de que el juez les dio el permiso para tocar, intentaron hacerlo en numerosas ocasiones pero solo lograron que los familiares de las victimas de Cromañón suspendieran los recitales tal como pasó en Tucuman donde se habian vendido las entradas y tuvieron que devolverlas, solo les quedaba tocar por sorpresa como hicieron en el "Ensayo a puertas abiertas" de Los Jovenes Pordioseros en El Teatro de Flores o como con La 66 (oriunda de Cordoba) en Palm Beach, pero luego de tanto tiempo, llegaron a un acuerdo con el gobernador de Cordoba y el intendente de Cordoba Capital y les dieron el SI para poder tocar en el Estadio Mundialista de Cordoba (Chateau Carreras) el 21 de septiembre del corriente pero con una capacidad muy limitada para solamente 21 000 personas, las cuales agotaron las entradas que solo se vendian en Cordoba en solamente 2 días.
Ese jueves Día de la primavera del 2006, no fue un día mas...CALLEJEROS volvió oficialmente a los escenarios.
El 19 de agosto de 2009, el Tribunal consideró que la banda era inocente y los absolvió. Omar Chabán, ex gerenciador de Cromañón, recibió una condena de 20 años, mientras que el ex manager de la banda fue condenado a 18 años. Luego de otro confuso episodio en 2010, en el cual murió quemada la mujer de Vázquez, la banda anunció la separación de éste y del guitarrista Elio Delgado. Santos Fontanet y el saxofonista Juanjo Carbone decidieron seguir y llamaron a Luis Lamas, baterista de Ojos Locos, al ex Jóvenes Pordioseros Pedi y a un ex plomo de la banda, Crispín, para que se hicieran cargo de las guitarras. Luego de suspender algunos shows programados, terminaron disolviéndose.
