Hey I used to know a kid he was the talk of the town

Everyone was counting on him so he followed his dreams

Hit the gas when he was 18 to hop on the scene
He made a move when he turned 18 to make it big

He was a smart one, used to cop bounces the smoke
He was intelligent and used to buy marijuana

Growin up this shit was easy cause his life was a joke
His childhood years were smooth because he didn't take it seriously

Never paid too much attention to the chicks and shit
He didn't focus on girls and other trivial things

Cause they was focused on the kids who had the whole package
Girls were interested in complete guys

He was more the type of kid to make a whole bunch of friends
He was sociable and made many friends

But never really got close cause his life was a mess
Despite making many friends, he didn't get too close to any of them because of his chaotic life

His parents weren't around they was out getting drunk
His parents were never there; they were busy drinking alcohol

So at night he would write and sit there in the funk
He would write and be sad in his room since he was alone

He had a dark side but even worse no one could know
He had a negative aspect to his personality, yet it was even worse since no one could find out

But in between all the drama it was taking a tole
The stress and tension from his life were affecting him

Everything was catching up and he was super depressed
His issues caught up to him, and he was incredibly sad

So he would pray to God at night to please stop this stress
He would pray for relief from his anxiety and worries

And so a couple weeks past and he was doing alright
A few weeks later, he was doing better

Started talking to this girl about bout his life
He opened up to a girl about his issues

It was cool cause she was kinda in the same position
It was great because she faced similar problems as he did

She was new to the town and had someone to listen
Since she was new to the city, he was someone who could lend her an ear

They would go out after school and walk around at the pond
They went out for walks after school by a lake

He even brought a guitar and said he wrote her a song
He even composed a song for her

She was flattered, told him that she used to get battered
She was grateful and shared her experience of past abuse

Something sparkled in her eye he said it doesn't matter
He saw hope in her, and he said her past didn't affect him

I'm a take you over anything, the past is the past
He assured her that he would be there for her and that her past would not impact their relationship

They had their first kiss walked off and started to laugh
They shared a beautiful moment and laughed together

It was weird though cause given that she seemed stronger
The situation was strange since she appeared more resilient

Had some demons but he knew that she'd been managing longer
She had gone through challenging times before, but he knew she could handle it

So he started falling back and saying it was all good
He started holding back and pretended to be fine

He didn't wanna talk about even though he should
Although he should have talked to her, he chose not to

He was afraid that she'd say she's been through worst
He was scared that she would tell him that his situation wasn't as bad as hers

That he's a crybaby and everybody goin get get hurt, still
He believed that people would judge him for crying and that his situation would hurt everyone around him anyway

But one night it was 3 in the morning and he had woken up
One night, he woke up at 3 am

Opened up the curtain and he saw that it was dark as fuck
He saw that outside it was pitch black

Snuck past his dad who had fallen asleep,
He went past his sleeping dad quietly

Watching tv downstairs drinking a cup of bleach
His dad was drinking bleach and watching TV

He walked down to the basement and saw a cabinet
He went to the basement and saw a storage unit

Looked around laughed a bit, saw the gun grabbed it
He found the gun, laughed, and picked it up

Ran down to the lake where he had hoped to see
He went to the lake hoping to meet his girlfriend

That she had been there waitin for him
He hoped to find her there waiting for him

Like she was supposed to be
He expected her to be there

She wasn't there so he got out his phone
He didn't find her but took out his phone

And left a note that read "why? Why'd you leave me alone?"
He left a message wondering why she wasn't there for him

As he walked toward the water she was there like wait stop
Just as he was about to enter the lake, she appeared and stopped him

It was too late he said "I'm runnin away I can't stop"
He claimed he was running away and couldn't be stopped

And he pulled the trigger, the loud blast made her ears pop
He shot himself and the blast was so loud that it hurt her ears

She started crying and she said, "somebody call the cops"
His girlfriend started to cry and asked for someone to call the police

But when they got there they looked around the scene
The police arrived and surveyed the area

And found two dead bodies holding hands by the stream
They found two lifeless bodies holding hands near the lake

They searched the bodies and they found a small cd
Upon examination, the authorities found a CD

With this beat looped over and the cover said CMP
The CD cover had the word CMP, and the track was on repeat
