Told You So
Cameo Culture Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I ever leave you, you can say I told you so
And if I ever hurt you, you know I hurt myself as well
Is that anyway for a man to carry on?
Do you think I want my love undone?

If I ever leave you, you can say I told you so
And if I ever hurt you, you know I hurt myself as well
Is that anyway for a man to carry on?
Do you think I want my love undone?

(trumpet solo)

If I ever leave you, you can say I told you so
And if I ever hurt you, you know I hurt myself as well
Is that anyway for a man to carry on?
Do you think I want my love undone?

(trumpet solo)

End.

05/19/2018 - I heard this playing over the sound system at a CONVERSE store as I was trying on some Chucks. Noticed I was tapping my feet and my body was in rhythm.. Pulled out phone..found song. Me likes..

LOL - Nearly the same thing happened to me, except I was doing a tap dance boogie down the household cleaner aisle at Target... I could barely hear the words of the song over the store noise and young children squalling at something, and barely had the thought to try a song ID app on the phone before it was over, and to my horror realized that I had not yet installed such an app on my newly acquired phone yet! No time to download one and use it before the opportunity was gone, but fortunately had had the presence of mind to install the smart voice recorder already and figured that was my best bet for ever hearing the tune again. Stood there feeling kinda silly with my phone up in the air with everyone else milling about, but just prayed that it would pick up well enough from the overhead speaker to record a few bars that might be recognizable later. I asked around the store employees if they had a corporate playlist or store channel that might be consulted for the title, but no luck, so I just kept my fingers crossed that I had captured enough of it to ID later. Fortunately, SHAZAM was able to filter out the important parts from the ambient racket in the store, and sent me the info in about 4 and a half seconds, but I had to download it to my computer first because I couldn't play the song and try to capture it on the same device at the same time.

Technology occasionally earns its keep beyond having me at everyone else's beck and call. Song ID services are leading the pack on that for me. Very happy to hear this again. =)
