In 2005, Camille released Le fil. This is a concept album, built on one note (a B) that starts at the beginning of the album and stops at its end. All the songs of the album are constructed on the voice of Camille with only one instrument (double-bass, and sometimes a keyboard).
Camille's third studio album Music Hole, released in March 2008, shows a key turn in her career: it is mostly sung in English.

Camille's song 1.2.3 is about a woman who is torn between two lovers. The lyrics "Un, deux, trois, Y en a un de trop, C’est pas toi c’est l’autre" translate to "One, two, three, there's one too many, it's not you it's the other." She is sitting with one of her lovers one evening and realizes that she wants to be with the other instead. Camille sings "Un, deux, trois, C’était mieux à deux, Les yeux dans les yeux" which means "One, two, three, it was better with two, eyes to eyes." The singer wants to leave one lover for the other, but she is torn as she keeps seeing her current lover's double in the streets.
The phrase "Je veux t’échanger" which is repeated throughout the song means "I want to exchange you." In the chorus, she sings "Mon soleil c’était toi, Je suis perdue" or "My sunshine was you, I am lost." She feels torn and doesn't know who to choose. In the end, she decides to leave both of her lovers and live without the struggles of a complicated relationship. Three, two, one, It's three times better alone, without any arguments to settle, and then two lost, ten found."
Overall, the song is about the difficulty of making a choice between two lovers and the pain it brings. It shows the singer's struggle between her emotional connection with one lover and her physical attraction to the other.

Learning French (in French 2 right now) and one of our assignments was just listen to some French music. I ended up listening to le festin, and now Camille is one of my favorite artists, even though I’m barely able to understand any French.
